“Thank you, for all of your love and support.”
A British professional boxer has died at the age of 25, according to Boxxer.
Georgia O’Connor, who had married her longtime boyfriend on May 9 after being diagnosed with cancer in January, was 3-0-0 inside the ring since debuting as a professional in 2021.
She had previously revealed that she suffered a miscarriage prior to her cancer diagnosis.

“Georgia was loved, respected and admired by her friends here at Boxxer,” her promoter wrote in a statement obtained by The Guardian. “Our thoughts are with her loved ones at this difficult time.”
O’Connor made a name for herself with a gold medal at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games.
She also earned a silver medal at the 2017 Youth World Championships and a bronze medal at the 2018 Youth World Championships, per People.
O’Connor’s death comes less than five months after the boxer revealed her cancer diagnosis alongside a photo of herself receiving treatment in a hospital bed.
Her caption included a direct attack against her doctors, who she claims “allowed this to happen.”
“For 17 weeks since the start of October, I’ve been in constant pain,” she wrote in her Jan. 31 post. “I said from the start I felt it was cancer.”
O’Connor said she knew she had an increased risk of cancer due to her “colitis and PSC” diagnoses.
PSC refers to primary sclerosing cholangitis, “a chronic liver disease in which the bile ducts inside and outside the liver become inflamed and scarred, and eventually narrowed or blocked,” per the NIH.
“I KNOW how high my risk is and they do too. They always did. But not one doctor f***ing listened to me,” she continued in the caption. “Not one doctor took me seriously.”
O’Connor says her doctors ignored her requests for more tests
Despite begging her doctors for scans and blood tests, she claims they refused and dismissed her.
She went on to reveal that the cancer had already started to spread as blood clots started to form “all over” her lungs. One month later, she revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.
“The last few months have been a rollercoaster,” she wrote in a Feb. 18 Instagram post.
“I’ve been pregnant with a beautiful baby, suffered a miscarriage, then got diagnosed with ‘incurable’ cancer,” the caption continued. “But I still feel on top of the world!”
On May 12, she revealed that she tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Adriano Cardinali.
On May 22, Ben Shalom — founder and CEO of Boxxer — offered his condolences to O’Connor’s family and loved ones in an emotional post on X.
“It’s hard to make sense of this,” he wrote in the post. “Georgia was an inspirational person and one I’ll never forget.”
“A lot goes on in life but nothing else matters other than your family and your health,” he added. “So sorry for her family and all her friends. Truly heartbreaking.”
