A mother in Australia has been sentenced to time in jail after she poured kerosene over herself and her 7-year-old son before setting her kitchen on fire.
Popular gaming influencer Fandy shocked the internet this week after broadcasting the birth of her child live on Twitch.
On Tuesday, October 7, the streamer drew more than 50,000 viewers to her channel as she delivered her baby during an eight hour livestream titled “Water Broke, Baby Time.”
To announce the livestream, she wrote on Twitter to her followers, "Hi Twitter my water just broke, so I think I'm going this live. Baby time :)".
The video showed Fandy surrounded by a supportive team assisting her through the at-home birth, including her husband, Adam. After eight hours, the couple welcomed their child in a small inflatable pool, a moment that captivated thousands of viewers watching in real time.
At the end of the broadcast, Adam addressed the audience directly, thanking viewers for being part of what he described as “an insane experience.”
“This was a team effort,” he said, also giving a shout-out to the friends who helped set up the tech equipment and multiple cameras for the stream. He revealed that the original plan was to simply record the moment on an iPhone.
Fandy first announced her pregnancy earlier this year on Instagram, sharing a photo proudly holding her sonogram.
“I’m having a baby 🙂 due Oct 18th! Future gladiator inc. Super excited for this next chapter in life with @adamaxbro ♥️,” the 32-year-old wrote in the caption.
Among the 50,000 viewers on the stream was the CEO of Twitch Dan Clancy, who congratulated the happy couple. "Fandy. Best of luck and congratulations," he wrote in the live chat. "Wishing you the best in this journey."
The viral livestream has sparked widespread conversation online, with many fans congratulating the couple while others stunned by the unprecedented level of openness in sharing such an intimate moment.
