“It’s just a special way for me to get involved.”
For the first time since his divorce was finalized last year, actor Brad Pitt is speaking out.
In an interview with GQ, published on Wednesday, May 28, Pitt talked about his upcoming film “F1” and his personal life.
According to GQ reporter, Daniel Riley, “a couple of weeks after that final drive in Abu Dhabi, Pitt’s private life was the subject of fresh headlines as his very public divorce from Angelina Jolie was finalized.”
Riley took to the opportunity to asked Pitt about the 8-year-long legal battle after his ex-wife, actress Angelina Jolie, first filed for divorce on Sept. 20, 2016.

“Does anything feel different being on the other side of the divorce finally being finalized?” Riley asked Pitt. “Is there relief?”
“No,” Pitt replied. “I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”
“My personal life is always in the news,” Pitt said when talking about driving an F1 car in his upcoming film. “It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way.”
But when asked if the car and the movie provided him the same refuge the car seems to provide professional F1 riders, Pitt said he doesn’t “see it that way.”

“It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do,” he continued. “So, it’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don’t know. I don’t know.”
“Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained,” he added. “It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
Pitt and Jolie were together for a decade, married for two years, at the time Jolie filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
The divorce was then legally finalized many years later in December 2024. During their relationship, Pitt and Jolie welcomed several kids into their family, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, Knox Jolie-Pitt, Pax Jolie-Pitt, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, and Maddox Jolie-Pitt.
After the divorce was finalized, Jolie’s lawyer James Simon issued a statement to NBC News on Dec. 31. “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt,” the statement read.

“She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
Pitt is now dating jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, who also finalized her divorce from actor Paul Wesley in 2024.
The pair made their first public appearance together at the 2024 British Grand Prix, GQ reported.
“I ask Pitt if he and de Ramon deliberately decided to appear publicly for the first time at an F1 race,” Riley wrote.
“No, dude, it’s not that calculated,” Pitt said with a “chuckle.” “If you’re living, oh my God, how exhausting would that be? If you’re living with making those kinds of calculations? No, life just evolves. Relationships evolve.”
