Alex Vesia’s wife, Kayla, is “checking in” with her followers after losing her newborn baby girl.
Kayla Vesia, who has been married to the 29-year-old Los Angeles Dodgers’ pitcher since January 2024, took to TikTok on Jan. 2 to share her first video since announcing her daughter’s death.
“Alex and I are just trying to get through it everyday. Every day’s so different for us right now and I don’t really have the words,” she said at the beginning of her video.
She went on to thank their fans and followers for their continued love and support.

“I am really grateful for the community of you guys, and just expressing your support and love towards us. It really has brought us a lot of comfort during this,” she added.
Kayla Vesia’s update comes two months after she shared the devastating news about her baby girl.
“Our little angel we love you forever & you’re with us always,” she wrote of her daughter, Sterling Sol Vesia, in a Nov. 7 Instagram post.
“Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her,” they added.
Alex and Kayla Vesia, who revealed their pregnancy in April, were expecting their baby to arrive during the Dodgers’ recent postseason run, according to MLB.com.
On Oct. 23, one day before Game 1 of the World Series, the Dodgers announced that Vesia would be stepping away from the club to deal with a “deeply personal family matter.”
According to Alex Vesia’s baby update, their newborn daughter died three days later.

Alex and Kayla Vesia are no strangers to sharing glimpses of their life together online.
The couple understandably took a break from social media as they grieved the loss of their daughter, but Kayla Vesia reassured her followers that she plans on sharing more about her journey in the near future.
“I don’t know how much I’m going to share. I don’t know. I don’t know the details of it,” she said on Jan. 2.
“But I do know that I want to share, and if it can help somebody who’s going through the same thing, feel like they’re not alone,” she added.
Kayla Vesia said she believes talking about her journey will be a good outlet for her — outside of all the talks she has with her husband and their therapists.
She also opened up about the grief of losing her baby girl and what 2026 has in store for her family.
“I was prepared for whatever was gonna happen but I wasn’t prepared for not taking my baby home,” Kayla Vesia said in the video.
“I don’t know what this year is gonna bring. I’ll slowly be getting back on here, but I love you guys, and that’s about it for right now,” she concluded.
