Chris Daughtry’s successful music career is turning into a family affair.
The 45-year-old singer, who placed fourth on season five of “American Idol” in 2006, took to Instagram on July 6 to share a snippet of a duet he recorded recently with his 14-year-old daughter, Adalynn.
In the video, the father-daughter duo performed a cover of “Bad Life” by Sigrid and Bring Me the Horizon.

“Adalynn asked me if I would do this cover of “BAD LIFE” Daughtry wrote in the caption. “And my heart jumped out of my chest with excitement!”
“Are you kidding!!??? Um… ALL THE YES!!!” the proud father added.
Daughtry further revealed that Adalynn’s twin brother, Noah, who he described as “extremely talented and musical,” was also featured on the track as a pianist.
“This was such a joy to produce and perform with my baby girl. I am so proud of her and the work she has put in developing her voice,” he continued in the caption. “My heart is beyond full!!!”
Fans were quick to praise the “It’s Not Over” artist for letting his daughter own the moment.
“Awww you sound so good together and I love that your voice isn’t overpowering hers. Definitely a proud dad moment,” one fan wrote in the comment section of Daughtry’s post.
“Absolutely balling my eyes out.. she sings like her Mother’s beautiful speaking voice.. the pure delight and pride in Chris’ eyes!!” another fan pointed out.
Daughtry’s bassist Marty O’Brien encouraged his bandmate to upload the full video.
“SO amazing Adalynn! Great job on the keys too, Noah! Upload the whole video, this is GREAT; let’s gooooo!!” he commented under the video.
Even beloved voice coach Melissa Cross shared her excitement over the duet.
“Oh my! What a gorgeous HUGE voice hath this child!!!” she wrote in the comment section.
Daughtry isn’t just a father — he’s a grandfather, too!
Daughtry shares two kids with his wife, Deanna, who he has been married to since 2000 — six years before he auditioned for and nearly won “American Idol.”
In 2010, the couple announced that they were expecting twins via surrogacy.
“Due to Deanna’s partial hysterectomy in 2006 the couple used IVF and had their embryos transferred to a gestational surrogate,” the couple wrote in a statement at the time, per Just Jared.
Their twins, Noah and Adalynn, were born in November 2010.
Daughtry is also a stepfather to his wife’s older two children, Hannah and Griffin. In 2021, Daughtry’s wife revealed that her firstborn, Hannah, had died at the age of 25.
I love you endlessly Hannah,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “We are awaiting the autopsy results to determine how Hannah sustained the injuries that caused her death. Our hearts are broken.”
Hannah left behind a son, Liam, and daughter, Lily, according to People.
In 2015, Daughtry took to Instagram to share a rare photo of life as a grandfather.
“And from my 8 month old grandson (YES GRANDSON) Liam. Full on waterworks from my eyeholes,” he wrote in the caption alongside a painting of two baby feet and a poem.

As for Daughtry’s duet with his two younger children, fans are still waiting for the full song to be released.
