If you’re looking for new things to watch (and sing along to) this Christmas, Elf on the Shelf has you covered.
On Nov. 17, the LumiStella Company — the company that created Elf on the Shelf — released a trailer for their new preschool musical series titled, “Scout Elf Squad,” on YouTube.
The trailer was followed by the release of a 10-track album, “Scout Elf Squad: Sing & Play Nursery Rhymes,” on Nov. 21 and the show’s very first episode, “Search and Rescue,” on Nov. 24.
That’s right — your favorite holiday tradition now comes with new Elf on the Shelf music and a show!
The new releases come amid the company’s 20th anniversary celebration.

In an interview with “Billboard Family,” Chanda A. Bell — the company’s co-founder and co-CEO — opened up about why she feels now is the perfect time to expand on the Elf on the Shelf Santaverse.
“We’ve seen a wonderful surge in families wanting content created for our youngest fans—some as young as 2—whose parents are eager to share the Scout Elf they grew up,” she told the outlet.
“As we celebrate our 20th anniversary, we’re delighted to introduce 10 new songs and a new pilot season of The Elf on the Shelf Scout Elf Squad on YouTube for fans of all ages to enjoy,” she added.
Both the musical and subsequent album follow a group of Scout Elves, known as the Scout Elf Squad:
- Frostina, the team’s leader and guide who wears her magical Detecto-Specs.
- Shiver, the team’s tinkerer and fact-finder who travels with a Magic Gadget Messenger Bag.
- Snowdrop, who keeps others calm and positive with her sparkly Zazzle-Wand.
- Blizzard, who brings spirit and playful fun with his Blasto-board.
“We hope they will inspire families and bring joy during this most wonderful time of the year,” Bell said of the squad’s adventures, which aims to introduce kids to teamwork, kindness, curiosity and confidence.

Tune into the new Elf on the Shelf show on YouTube
News of an upcoming preschool series was teased on Instagram and YouTube on Nov. 7.
On Nov. 17, the LumiStella Company added to that excitement with the show’s official trailer, which introduced families to the Scout Elf Squad with an adorable (and catchy) theme song.
“One, two, three, four. Scout Elf Squad is off to explore,” the theme song goes. “Frostina, Shiver, Snowdrop, Blizzard. We learn, we play, we save the day. Yay!”
One week later, the show’s first episode, “Search and Rescue,” was released on YouTube.
“When a fox cub goes missing before Santa’s Snow Statue Extravaganza, the elves team up to help Noorah the fox and show the power of friendship, teamwork, and courage,” the description read.
The episode is eight minutes long and is “filled with music, laughter, and heartwarming moments from the North Pole.”
