Cristiano Ronaldo shares the sweet story behind his proposal to Georgina Rodríguez, explaining how his daughters helped him realize the timing was right.
Eva Longoria is embracing life as a mom later in life and she says the timing couldn’t have been better.
In a new interview with The Times published November 22, the Desperate Housewives actress, 50, reflected on how becoming a parent in her forties changed her perspective.
“You have so much more wisdom and patience when you become a mother in your forties. It was all about me for so long. Forty years of me was enough time, so I was really blessed to have my child later in life because I had travelled, I’d done everything I needed to do for my career.”
Now, she says, the joy comes from sharing life with her son. “Everything from here on out feels like icing on the cake, and I get to experience it with him.”
She joked that the ideal scenario would be “having a 20-year-old body with a 50-year-old mind,” but added that she’s approaching aging with optimism.
“We’re all aging — it’s inevitable. I just want to age well. I want to stay active, hike, climb stairs without thinking twice. I still carry my son, and he’s 7.”
Longoria also emphasized that her family comes first. “If I’m agreeing to something that takes me away from them, it needs to be meaningful and something I genuinely enjoy.”
As she nears a decade of marriage, she also credits José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón for being her steady source of support. “I’m very busy, and my career matters deeply to me, but I’m lucky to have a partner who matches that energy. He supports everything I dream of doing.”
Longoria and her husband, Bastón, welcomed their son, Santiago Enrique Bastón, on June 19, 2018.
Earlier this year, Longoria opened up to Byrdie about how motherhood has reshaped her approach to work.
After stepping behind the camera for her 2023 directorial debut Flamin’ Hot, she said she’s eager to spend more time acting again but she’s far more selective now that she has her son.
“I’m much more intentional about the projects I put into the world because my son is going to grow up and watch them,” Longoria explained.
"I think about whether he'd be proud of something or might be embarrassed. Even with old sexy photoshoots, I think, 'Oh god, he's going to see this one day.'"
