Jamie-Lynn Sigler is opening up about how her MS diagnosis affected her decision to stop having kids.
The 44-year-old “Sopranos” actress was answering a fan’s question about multiple sclerosis during the Dec. 30 episode of her “MeSsy” podcast with fellow actress Christina Applegate.
And it was a question that hit close to home for the mom of two.
The listener explained that she was a mom of three with MS who wanted to have another child, but wasn’t sure if her body would be able to handle another pregnancy after years of pain and fatigue.
“Is it possible? What does it look like being pregnant postpartum? I’m so scared but so hopeful at the same time,” the fan wrote.

Sigler, who was diagnosed with MS in the early 2000s — more than a decade before giving birth to her two kids — spoke from personal experience.
"I see your pain and your struggle. It is very difficult," she replied on the podcast. "Setting boundaries, asking for help, getting support, advocating for yourself, these things take time."
Sigler, who shares sons Beau, 11, and Jack, 7, with her husband Cutter Dykstra, according to Us Weekly, went on to reveal that she felt “a bit of remission” during her first pregnancy, but not with baby No. 2.
“Cutter and I really decided fully not to have another child because I just knew at that point with my MS that I wouldn’t be able to take care of the baby independently the way I wanted to,” she explained.
“But that was just us,” she continued.
Sigler implored the listener — and anyone else faced with a similar situation — to do what she feels is best for her and her family.
“I don’t think you should ever let MS stop you from big things like that,” she added. “If you have the calling of wanting another child, you’ll figure out a way.”
Jamie-Lynn Sigler describes first pregnancy as a ‘glorious’ time
Sigler has always been open about her journey with multiple sclerosis, which she was diagnosed with at just 20 years old, per USA Today.
In 2022, she described what it was like being pregnant with her first child while living with MS.
"Fortunately for me, I got pregnant very quickly and then during my first pregnancy, I was taking longer walks than I had in years. I was up and down our street," she told People at the time.
"We lived in the hills in Los Angeles. It was a glorious time,” she added.

Sigler went on to say that her first pregnancy helped reduce some of her MS symptoms.
"You can absolutely carry and you can absolutely have a very healthy pregnancy, healthy delivery," she said. "A lot of people feel better during pregnancy. And during my first pregnancy, that was the case."
But that’s not to say it doesn’t come with its limitations.
During a September appearance on the “Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa” podcast, Sigler and Applegate, who announced her MS diagnosis in 2021, opened up about some of those limitations.
“My little one hates it. He’s mad that I can’t run like all the other moms, he points out all the time that I walk like an old lady,” Sigler said of her experience with MS as a mom of two.
As for her older son, Sigler said he takes a different approach to her diagnosis.
