Each year, more than 3,500 children suffer serious injuries from button battery ingestion around the world.
Jessie James Decker loves getting an early start to her family’s holiday traditions — unless it involves Christmas shopping.
In that sense, she describes herself as a “last-minute person.”
The 37-year-old singer and songwriter, who appears in the new holiday movie “The Christmas Ring,” released Nov. 6, recently opened up about how she approaches holiday preparation as a mom of four.
"My sister probably starts buying Christmas gifts and everything and like October, she is so ahead of game, super organized,” Decker said in an interview with People, published Nov. 18.
"I'm always like one step at a time, one day at a time," she added.
But when she does finally get around to Christmas shopping, Decker said she’s often limited by her husband’s — former NFL player Eric Decker — holiday shopping mentally, which differs from her own.
"Let's keep things on a budget, let's have a certain dollar amount per kid,” she says of his approach.

"He is that guy. He wants to get the most bang for our buck. He wants the deal, and he wants, you know, he wants to earn rewards. He's the guy that puts his number in everywhere we go," she continued.
Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker started dating in 2011, got engaged in 2012 and tied the knot the following year, according to Us Weekly.
The couple share four kids — daughter Vivianne Rose, 11, and sons Eric "Bubby" Thomas, 10, Forrest Bradley, 7, and Denver Calloway, nine months — according to People.
Jessie James Decker reveals her favorite family holiday traditions
While the shopping can usually wait, Jessie James Decker says she loves getting an early start to the holiday season.
And it all starts with a fun-filled week leading up to Halloween.
"During Halloween week I have the hot apple cider and the Halloween music and we're carving pumpkins and I bake a big pot of pumpkin chili and we have our little party," she told People.

Not long after, she throws another “little party” to help get her family in the Christmas spirit.
"We had our Christmas pre-party and so I made a big ham and mashed potatoes, green beans, and we played Christmas music and made hot chocolate and we all decorated the tree,” she explained.
"These are memories your kids will cherish forever. They look forward to this every year," she added.
Decker went on to admit that these Christmas traditions tend to start “earlier and earlier” each year — and her kids are usually the ones who lead the way in spreading holiday magic throughout the household.
As for what her kids are asking for this year, it’s a lot of what you’d expect from three boys and one girl.
According to People, Decker’s daughter wants nothing more than Rhode products and other cosmetic items, while her two older sons are interested in anything that has to do with sports and music.
