Jimmy Kimmel’s kids are going viral for their hilarious reactions to his show’s brief suspension.
During a Sept. 30 appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Kimmel opened up about the day he learned that his show — “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” — was being suspended by ABC.
That suspension began on Sept. 17 — and he found out just a few hours before taping an episode.
After speaking to ABC on the phone (while in the bathroom, nonetheless), Kimmel broke the news to his executive producers and sent the audience (who were already seated) home.
He then stayed at the show for several hours before going home to his wife and kids.
“I am followed by 20 paparazzi cars. TMZ, people jumping in front of me on the way home. We’re just trying to get to the house,” he told Colbert — adding that there were two helicopters flying above him.
“We get to the house. We are shaken. The kids are up — we’ve got two kids,” he continued. “Our daughter, who is 11 years old, says ‘I can sell my Labubus.’”
For those who don’t know, a Labubu is a popular collectible toy character created by Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung, per NPR. The plush toy monster elves come in many different outfits, colors and themes.

They’re typically sold in “blind boxes,” meaning kids and collectors don’t know which figure they’re getting.
Colbert, Kimmel and the audience agreed that his daughter’s gesture was “very sweet.”
“Our son just got naked and started running around the house,” Kimmel added — to which Colbert joked, “Also lovely.”
Kimmel shares two kids — daughter Jane, 11, and son Billy, 8 — with his wife Molly McNearney, per People. He also shares daughter Katie, 34, and son Kevin, 32 with his first wife Gina Maddy.
Jimmy Kimmel initially thought his show was done for good
Kimmel’s late night talk show has been on air for more than 20 years since its start in 2003.
ABC decided to pull his show from air due to comments he made about the assassination of Charlie Kirk — which resulted in criticism from President Donald Trump’s administration, per the Associated Press.
Kimmel admitted to being shocked when he found out about the suspension on Sept. 17.
"I thought, 'That's it. It's over. It is over.' I thought, 'I'm never coming back on the air.' That's really what I thought," he told Colbert.
While on the phone with ABC, Kimmel was told that the network was “concerned” about what he was going to say on the show and wanted to “take the temperature down” before moving forward.
Kimmel told them that wasn’t a good idea, but they suspended his show anyway.

The suspension lasted six days and Jimmy Kimmel’s show made its official return on Sept. 23. According to Forbes, Kimmel’s contract with Disney is set to expire in 2026.
