"If your babysitter drove that night, make sure she calls you when she gets home.”
Kylie Jenner didn’t realize how selfish she was until she became a mom at 20.
The now-28-year-old beauty mogul opened up about the struggles of being a young mom and what she has learned from that experience on the Nov. 12 episode of her sister’s “Khloe in Wonder Land” podcast.
And while she admitted to being “really scared” at first, her sister Khloe Kardashian reassured her that being a mother was part of her destiny.
“Since you were little, you were the biggest nurturer,” Khloe said to her little sister as she recalled a time when Kylie got her first dog at just six or seven years old.
“And the way Kylie was obsessed with this animal,” Khloe added. “This dog was Kylie’s baby.”
Khloe went on to praise Kylie for having a “maternal instinct her entire life” and how the “mom gene” came “natural” to her.
Kylie went on to admit that she has a good balance with her identity and mom life, but it didn’t come easy.
“It was really hard for me having kids so young and you’re just — the emotions and the postpartum,” she said on the podcast.

Khloe added that her sister being the only one in her circle having kids didn’t make it any easier, to which Kylie agreed.
“The only one. Yris and I became a lot closer. She’s a little bit older than me. We had kids together,” Kylie added — referring to social media influencer Yris Palmer.
As for what Kylie has learned since becoming a mom, she alluded to how selfless she has become.
“I don’t think you realize how selfish you are — like even the little things — until you have kids. Like leaving the house,” she said.
Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian detail their differing parenting styles
Kylie shares two kids — daughter Stormi Webster, 7, and son Aire Webster, 3 — with her ex-partner Travis Scott, whom she was in a relationship with between 2017 and 2022, according to People.
As for Khloe, she shares two kids — daughter True, 7, and son Tatum, 3 — with her ex Tristan Thompson, whom she dated between 2016 and 2022, per People.
While the sisters admit to being very similar in their parenting styles, they do differ in one major way.
“I think you’re a little more, uh, regimented,” Kylie said to her sister — who agreed that “regimented” is a much better word than “rigid.”
Kylie went on to say that her sister is much more strict about when her children go to sleep and making sure they stay on a consistent schedule, while Kylie takes a more lenient approach.
Kylie did, however, give her sister credit for not freaking out when Tatum went without a nap during a recent trip to Disneyland with Aire — even though he was a little extra grumpy when he got home.
“And he was a demon,” she joked. “When he came home he was like, ‘Don’t talk to me.’ I was like, ‘Tatum, is that you?’”

“But they got to go on more rides,” Kylie argued. “And he’s not going to remember, ‘Oh, I was tired coming home from Disney.’ He’s going to remember the rides.”
