Kylie Kelce says people have to stop thinking everyone goes 110% all the time ‘especially parents’

Sara Vallone | July 29, 2025

Kylie Kelce is sharing an important message, not everyone goes 110% all the time. And it’s time people stop thinking that way.

Kelce shared the poignant message while talking about NFL training camp.

During the “Not Gonna Lie” segment of her July 24 podcast episode, Kelce opened up about NFL training camp, talking about her experience despite her husband, Jason Kelce, being retired from the league.

She talked about how much her children enjoyed seeing their dad at the end of practice and playing with him on the field. Kelce also talked about some of the comments she would see on videos of Jason playing with their kids.

One popular video from his time with the Eagles is of Jason playing with his daughters by playfully trapping his girls in a clean trash can.

Another showed Jason laying on the field while throwing a football and his oldest daughter Wyatt running after it. Some people took offense to Jason “playing fetch” with his daughter after an all day practice.

“We got to stop trying to think that everyone goes 110% at all times, especially as parents,” Kelce said in a social media clip of her podcast, defending her husband’s actions. And I would just like to point out that ‘Bluey’ is a great example.”

“If anyone's seen the ‘Whale’ episode, go check it out, and then you'll understand why it's okay,” Kelce continued, referring to the episode of “Bluey” that showed Bandit and Chilli, parents of Bluey and Bingo, much too tired to play games that day, despite their children being full of energy.

“My husband was laying on the practice field after practicing a full practice and throwing a ball for his daughter to go get it,” Kelce continued, before giving Jason a shout out for going above and beyond to deplete some of their girls’ energy.

“Also shout out to Jason for getting her energy out, because you know who she was coming home with this one.”

Kelce explained that the best part of training camp for spouses was “when pre season is over.”

“The Eagles have the option for the guys to stay overnight,” she explained. “Jason, when we were living in the suburbs, would often just move down to the hotel. Because they are there for so many hours during the day, and then all he does is go to sleep, get up and do the exact same thing the next day.”

“It's not great. Even when Jason would stay at home for training camp, still the only thing we got to do was like sleep next to each other. So he wasn't home for dinner. He wasn't home for breakfast.”

Kelce went on to say that people should take her thoughts on training camp with a “grain of salt” because they are now two years removed from the NFL “and it is lovely,” Kelce said.
