That camping trip your family still talks about? Science says it’s worth more than any toy under the tree.
Matt Damon has learned a thing or two when it comes to being a girl dad.
The 55-year-old actor appeared on the Jan. 7 episode of the “New Heights” podcast when he dropped some valuable and powerful parenting advice to fellow girl dad Jason Kelce.
“Don’t blink. Don’t blink,” Damon told co-hosts Jason and Travis Kelce.
It was the same advice buddy told him when his daughters were younger, but one he didn’t fully understand until recently when his 17-year-old daughter, Gia, was getting ready for school.

“My daughter broke her collar bone. And this morning she was getting ready for school,” Damon recalled.
“She asked me to brush her hair,” he continued. “So, I brushed her hair and, man, it was a (moment). I hadn’t brushed her hair (in), I don’t know, eight (or) nine years.”
Damon went on to tell Jason not to take those moments with his younger daughters for granted.
“I don’t remember when I brushed her hair for the last time. It just kind of happened and then life kind of kept going and the changes are so incremental,” he added.
It wasn’t until he “ran the hairbrush through her hair” that he came to the realization.
“It buckled me, man,” Damon continued. “So, don’t blink.”
Matt Damon and Jason Kelce are both girl dads to four daughters

Damon and Jason might not be cut from the same cloth, but they do share something in common.
Damon, an Oscar-winning actor, and Jason, a Super-Bowl winning center, both have their hands full at home with four daughters each — though Damon has a bit more experience in that regard.
Damon shares three daughters — Isabella, 19, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15 — with his wife Luciana, according to People. He’s also a step father to her fourth daughter Alexia Barroso, 25.

Jason, on the other hand, shares four daughters — Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finn, 9 months — with his wife Kylie Kelce, according to TODAY.com.
At the start of their interaction on Jan. 7, Travis had asked Damon what his best piece of girl dad advice was.
"Man, I got nothing. I got nothing for you. You're in it. You're in it," Damon said to Jason. "Before we started, I heard the kids in the back. I was like 'oh my God.'"
Jason joked that he quickly learned to not listen to anyone’s advice since all kids are “so different.”
Damon, who agreed with that sentiment, went on to admit that he’s been stuck in the nature-nurture debate for quite some time now.
"Your kids show up — like that spirit that soul is there, and it's going to do what it's going to do,” he argued.

“The nurture part is very important; you're going to be helping with that, but they really are who they are right away,” he added.
