“If I’m twitching weird it’s because it’s pandemonium.”
As with anyone and anything in life, sometimes parents have to learn the hard way.
In a since-deleted TikTok video, Taylor Nitti — a mom of four from Minnesota — explained how a trip to the dentist with her four kids quickly turned into a parenting lesson she’ll remember forever.
It all started when she scheduled a routine dental cleaning for herself at a local dental office.
In an effort to make things easier on herself and her husband, Nitti decided to take her four kids — ages 7, 5, 4 and 3 — with her in hopes that they would behave themselves.
But when it came time for her dental cleaning, they did everything but.
“They were bickering over who was holding the magazine, just little sibling stuff,” Nitti said of her kids, who continued to cause mayhem while she received her cleaning, according to Today.com.
“I remember leaving the office and thinking, ‘That was not great,’” she continued.
It wasn’t until a week later that she received a letter from her dentist politely asking that she schedule future appointments “at times when your children can be supervised elsewhere.”

At the very least, they asked that the kids not be left unsupervised in the lobby area.
“We understand that it can be challenging to arrange childcare, and we appreciate that you bring your children when needed,” the letter read.
“However, we’ve noticed that during some recent visits, the noise and activity in the reception and treatment areas have made it difficult for our team to provide the best care,” it continued.
In the video, Nitti clarified that she thought the office’s “reasons are valid,” but that she “literally wanted to cry” after reading the letter — which she said left her “extremely embarrassed.”
Nitti’s dentist letter sparks heated debate online

It didn’t take long for the internet to share their opinions about Nitti’s forgettable day at the dentist.
One TikTok user, who allegedly works in a dental office, commented that they have a “couple moms that do this” where she works.
“Kids running up and down our halls, jumping and knocking into the walls in the waiting room, walking into peoples offices,” the commenter wrote. “It really is too much. I’m sorry.”

A second user said that she’s “missing the point” after Nitti revealed that she plans on going to a different dentist for her next appointment — while also sharing some parenting advice for new parents.
“That other dentist doesn’t want a bunch of kids in their waiting room either. The better solution is have your husband watch his children twice a year,” the commenter continued.
“If I was getting a root canal and heard all that noise I would lose it. And I have four kids,” a third user wrote.
But some users came to Nitti’s defense and agreed that it was a learning moment for her.
“This comment section is awful. She is taking accountability, she doesn’t disagree, she says she’s embarrassed but doesn’t blame them,” a fourth user commented.
“She is respectful toward the dentist office and their decision. She says she’s working on her parenting and feeling low and everyone decides to PILE ON a struggling mother,” the fourth commenter added.
Nonetheless, Nitti said she has learned her lesson.
“Definitely not,” she told Today.com when asked if she plans on bringing her four kids to her next dental appointment.

“I would not want to put myself or others back in that situation where a letter would need to be sent or I felt like a crappy parent,” she added.
