“I don’t let my kids sleep anywhere. I’m very strict about it.”
Olivia Munn has learned a lot about parenting — and now she’s dishing on some of her secrets.
The 44-year-old actress shares a 3-year-old son, Malcolm Hiệp, and 7-month-old daughter, Méi June, with comedian John Mulaney, whom she married in July, per People.
On April 12, Munn — who was named the April cover star for SELF — took to the magazine’s Instagram page to dish on “all of her motherhood must-haves” when it comes to baby products.

“I learned a lot from my first baby, and I’m telling you these are like complete must-haves,” she explains in the promotional video before adding that she’s not sponsored by any of the companies she promotes.
“This is just from my heart as a mother,” she continues.
And her best advice for mothers everywhere? Say goodbye to snaps — at night, at least.
“Because it’s the middle of the night. Your baby goes to the bathroom, your baby’s crying, you’ve gotta change the diaper,” Munn explains.
“The last thing you want to do is like struggle with snaps in the middle of the night,” she adds.
Her solution? The two-way zipper.
This unique design features two zipper pulls on a single zipper track — allowing parents to open and close a onesie from either the top or bottom.
That means parents don’t need to completely undress their baby to change their diaper.
“You do the two-way zipper, you’re able to just take out their legs and everything stays covered up top,” Munn explains. “It is amazing.”
In the comment section of SELF’s post, some users were quick to promote the use of magnetic sleepers and silent velcro swaddles for changing diapers at night.
As for the diapers she uses, Munn says she recently discovered a brand called Coterie — primarily due to their baby wipes.
“These other ones, they’re just a lot thinner and it feels like you need to use more wipes to clean up your baby,” she says in the video.
“And this one, you can really just use one wipe to do everything,” she says of the Coterie wipes.
Coterie wipes are made from 99% purified water and five other clean ingredients — including glycerin as a natural humectant and food-grade preservatives for safety, according to Coterie’s website.
They’re also up to 30% larger than other brands, are 100% plant-based and safe to use on all external areas of your baby’s delicate skin.
“They’re just nicer and softer for the baby,” Munn says of the wipes.
Other must-have baby products Olivia Munn swears by

When she’s not changing her baby’s diaper, Munn is looking for ways to make her life easier.
And one product that stepped up to the plate is the Doona stroller.
“It is a car seat that turns into a stroller that turns back into a car seat,” Munn says of the stroller. “It keeps your life really simple.”
She also uses the Nose Sucker to help clean her baby’s nose and the Windi to help her baby pass gas.
Since babies are unable to blow their noses when congested, the Nose Sucker helps parents remove excess mucus from their baby’s nose to improve breathing, feeding and sleeping.
Many parents use it as an alternative to suctioning the nose with a bulb syringe.
As Munn demonstrates, one end of the Nose Sucker connects to your baby’s nose and the other end to the parent’s mouth. As the parent inhales, it pulls the mucus out of the nose and into the collection tube.
“It’s the Nose Sucker, it’s pretty self-explanatory, but it’s a huge game changer,” Munn says in the video.
In the comment section of SELF’s post, one user described the “snot sucker” as the “only reason we survived this cold/flu season.”
As for the Windi, Munn describes it as “the best, or tied for the best baby product that’s out there.”
The Windi is a specialized gas relief tool for babies designed to help with colic, gas pain and sometimes constipation. It works instantly and doesn’t require ingestion of any drops or medication.
“Babies who have gas issues are just really struggling. It’s just so sad to see. Before you had to like, you know, massage the belly all the time,” Munn says of the product.
“Now there’s this device that you like put into their tush and, I don’t know how it works, but before you know it, you hear this little like whistle,” she explains.
The disposable, one-use tool is long enough to reach past the muscle that traps gas, but has a stopper to ensure it doesn’t go too far.

“It is incredible. I have no idea how it works. I’m just amazed by it. It helps every single time,” Munn says.
