Seth Meyers’ kids made a surprise appearance and their candid answers left fans begging for more

Ryan Brennan | December 1, 2025

Bring a Kid to Work Day isn’t until April, but Seth Meyers made an exception for his kids recently.

During the Nov. 27 episode of “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” the 51-year-old father of three played a video of him interviewing his two sons and one daughter in front of his live audience.

The interview was originally taped on Nov. 21, per his introduction.

And the interview went about as well as you’d expect from three kids between the ages of nine and four.

Before bringing his kids on stage, Meyers explained that they were at the studio to shoot their annual Christmas card photo, which is usually accompanied by a video of them dressed in turkey outfits

This year, the talk show host decided to put mics on his kids and surprise them with an interview.

When asked what they dressed up as for the photos, Meyers’ two sons, Ashe and Axel, said they were Buddy the Elf and Mr. Narwhal from the movie “Elf,” while Adelaide was Buddy’s girlfriend, Jovie.

But Adelaide, the unquestioned star of the interview, insisted that she was “Alphabet.”

The three kids were then asked how they got to the studio. Ashe and Axel confirmed that it was by car, but Adelaide again got creative with her response.

“Subway,” she said before being asked if she enjoyed it. “Yeah, the subway smelled like diarrhea.”

Meyers shares three kids — Ashe Olson, 9, Alex Strahl, 7, and Adelaide Ruth, 4 — with his wife, Alexi Ashe, whom he has been married to since September 2013, according to People.

The three kids shared their excitement for having a week off of school for Thanksgiving.

Meyers then asked what they enjoyed most about school. Adelaide was a fan of drawing and Ashe loved reading, but Axel took a more laid back approach to his answer.

“Definitely not read or write,” he said to a crowd of laughs.

Seth Meyers’ kids got in a mini-fight at a Pittsburgh Steelers game

Elsewhere in the interview, Meyers’ kids revealed that they recently took a trip to Pittsburgh to “watch the Pittsburgh Steelers win.”

The Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 34-12 on Nov. 16, but that wasn’t the only rivalry to heat up that day.

Meyers opened up about what he described as a “happy moment” turned “sad moment” when the Steelers intercepted a pass from Bengals’ quarterback Joe Flacco at the end of the third quarter.

“They ran it all the way back for a touchdown. And so I was watching, I was so excited and then I turned back and both of you were crying,” he said of his two sons.

Ashe explained that his brother was waving a “Terrible Towel” around when it accidentally hit him in the face. So, he proceeded to hit his brother back with a slight blow to his cheek.

The fight was, of course, short-lived and the two boys were laughing about the scrum on live TV.

Meyers then asked Adelaide if her brothers are silly, which she agreed, and which one of her brothers is sweetest to her. She quickly gave her oldest brother a hug, confirming Ashe as her favorite.

When asked if she loves her brothers, Adelaide responded, “I love this one, but not that one,” while giving Ashe a big hug.

Fans of the show were quick to beg for more of the trio in future episodes online.

“Late Night needs to put a reminder in their calendar right now for a 10 year follow up where Seth interviews his teenage kids and get their reaction to this original interview,” a fan commented on YouTube.

“You can tell Seth gives his children all the room in the world to be complete goofballs. I love it!” another comment read.
