Fans are in awe after professional dancers Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert took to Instagram to share big news.
Just one month ahead of their two-year wedding anniversary, Hough and Erbert announced that they are dancing into the next chapter of their life together, parenthood.
Alongside a video set to a song performed by their friends Alexander Jean titled “So Small,” Erbert captioned the post, writing, “We can’t believe the biggest thing to happen to us could be so small.”
In the video, Hough is seen walking toward Erbert before they embrace in a hug. As Erbert wraps her arms around Hough’s neck, she reveals a series of sonogram images revealing she’s pregnant with their first child.
Hough appears to be emotional towards the end of the video as he looks at his wife loving. Fans and friends were quick to share their congratulatory messages in the comment section.
Their fellow Dancing With the Stars colleague Lindsey Arnold wrote, “So beyond happy for you both! This is the best news.”
One of Hough’s former celebrity dancing partners, Sadie Robertson, added, “Awww yayy!! Congrats.”
“We are all so excited and thrilled about having a new baby in this family, you two are going to be the best parents,” one of Hough’s four sisters wrote. “I can’t hardly stand it!! Cannot wait to meet that sweet angel. Love you guys so much,” Katherine Hough continued.
Hough and Erbert met on his “Move Live Tour” in 2014 before their relationship turned romantic in 2015. They pair kept their relationship private until going public in 2017, People reports.
The couple got engaged after 8 years of dating in 2022, before becoming husband and wife on Aug. 26, 2023.
As dancers, Hough and Erbert are often seen on social media creating together. They have become known for their short dance videos they share on Instagram and TikTok.
In late 2023, just months after getting married, Erbert suffered a medical emergency while performing with Hough in Washington, D.C. Erbert and Hough details her recovery after suffering a cranial hematoma and undergoing an emergency craniectomy, in addition to several other surgeries.
Less than a year after suffering the medical emergency, Erbert returned to the Dancing With the Stars' stage where she and Hough performed an emotional number describing the event.
