Jessica Robertson says she’s “blessed” and “excited,” despite the change in plans.
The 44-year-old “Duck Dynasty” star took to Instagram on July 20 to share that her 18-year-old daughter Priscilla, whom she shares with husband Jep Robertson, is expecting her first baby.
In the caption, Jessica Robertson admits that the pregnancy came as a surprise to the family.

“Me & Jep are excited to welcome another new grandbaby in October. Priscilla will give birth to our granddaughter & we are blessed to add another grandbaby,” the mom of five wrote.
“This isn’t the plans we had laid out for Priscilla but God takes our meager offerings and turns them into His greatest blessings!” she added alongside photos of Priscilla showing off her baby bump.
Jessica Robertson went on to reveal that her daughter is expecting a baby girl and said she was proud of Priscilla and her boyfriend, Dillon, for choosing “life for their baby.”
Members of the “Duck Dynasty” family showed their full support in the comment section.
“Beautiful! Love you and so excited for another sweet baby girl in the fam,” wrote Korie Robertson, who is married to Willie Robertson, one of Phil Robertson’s four sons and one of Jep Robertson’s brothers.
“Cant wait to meet this precious baby girl!!!! Love you Priscilla!!!!” added Bella Robertson, the youngest daughter of Willie and Korie Robertson.
Sadie Robertson, another one of the couple’s daughters, and Mary Kate Robertson, who is married to Willie and Korie Robertson’s son John Luke, also shared their excitement in the comments.
“beautiful! Love y’all and she is gonna be an amazing mama!” the couple’s eldest daughter Rebecca Robertson added.
Fans share mixed reactions to 'Duck Dynasty' star's reveal
While the Robertson family was quick to support, some fans had different reactions to the announcement.
“Ugh the disappointment she must feel when her own mom adds in: ‘this isn’t the plans we had for….’” one fan wrote in the comment section.
“As a mom, I have to say this post falls short for me in some real ways. Especially with how publicly it’s being shared, I just wish the focus had stayed on celebrating Priscilla,” another fan wrote.
Others chose to remain positive about the reveal.
“My unplanned (surprise blessing) baby when I was 19 is the best thing that ever happened to me. And brought me to Jesus. God has perfect plans,” one fan wrote.
“Jessica, ignore the weird comments on here… you worded it just fine. Congrats on another grand baby!!!” another fan commented.
This will be Jessica and Jep Robertson’s third grandchild after her eldest daughter, Lily, welcomed her first baby in February and their second-oldest daughter, Merrit, is due with her first baby in December.
Jessica Robertson shared a photo of Lily’s baby boy, Winston, on Feb. 15.
“We are officially in the grandparents club!!! Our Lily had Winston Ezelle Stalbaum last week and we are just all obsessed over this sweet boy!!!!” she wrote in the caption.
On June 21, she shared a photo of Merritt and her husband Tyler holding ultrasound photos.
“Over the moon to announce another grand baby on the way!!! Baby girl due December 2025!!” Jessica Robertson wrote in the caption.
