Jared Goff is officially a girl dad!
The 30-year-old quarterback, who has played for the Detroit Lions since 2021, took to Instagram on July 15 to announce the birth of his first child with his wife Christen Harper Goff.
The couple revealed their baby girl’s name — Romy Isabelle — in the caption.

The joint Instagram post featured several photos of the newborn gripping her mothers’ index finger, as well as a photo of Goff gazing into his baby girl’s eyes as he held her in his arms.
Another photo shows the newly-minted family of three huddled together on a hospital bed.
The Detroit Lions and ESPN’s NFL correspondent Adam Schefter congratulated the couple in the comment section.
Several NFL WAGs also shared their excitement in the comments.
“CONGRATS!!! So happy for you guys,” Brittany Mahomes, who shares three children with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, wrote.
“Congratulations!!!” Olivia Culpo, who welcomed her first child with San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey a few days ago, added in a comment of her own.
“Congratulations guys!!! she’s perfect & I love her name,” Emily Mayfield, who welcomed her first baby with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield in April, commented.
Romy, which was given to 285 baby girls in 2024, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA), is believed to be a diminutive of Rosemary, meaning “dew of the sea” in Latin.
In modern times, it’s also considered a combination of the names Rose and Mary, per Behind the Name.
The name Romy is growing in popularity in the United States and made its debut (after 125 years) on the SSA’s annual list of the 1,000 most popular girl names in 2024 — where it ranked 924th, per the SSA.

In the hours following the couple’s announcement, Harper Goff took to her Instagram Stories to share a memory.
The photo, originally posted by Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, was of Harper Goff showing off her baby bump during a photoshoot for the 2025 SI Swimsuit Issue earlier this year.
A second photo showed Harper Goff and her husband with their newborn baby.
“From baby bump to baby bliss!” SI Swimsuit wrote in the caption.
“Such an honor shooting (SI Swimsuit) while growing this sweet girl!!” Harper Goff, who has been an SI Swimsuit model since 2021, per Sports Illustrated, wrote in her July 16 Story.
Harper Goff added, “Heart is bursting into a million pieces,” in a separate Story, according to People.
As for Goff, he shared a photo of his wife pushing a stroller while holding their dog’s leash in a Story of his own, also on July 16.
The couple first met through the Raya dating app in 2019 and started dating shortly after, according to an interview with SI Swimsuit in 2022.
"I was truly not looking for anything at the time," she told SI Swimsuit at the time. "I had just gotten out of a long relationship and I was trying to stay single for a year. Then I met him and the rest is history, baby."
Goff and Harper got engaged in June 2022 and tied the knot two years later, according to People.
They announced they were expecting their first child in a February interview with People, where they both shared their excitement for the newest chapter of their lives.
“I'm looking forward to becoming a dad,” Goff said while talking to People on the NFL Honors red carpet earlier this year. “I can't wait to watch [Harper] be a mom.”
