Sammi Sweetheart announced a pregnancy loss in November
Sammi Giancola was one of the original “Jersey Shore” cast members who appeared in all six seasons of the MTV reality TV series from 2009 to 2012.
Unlike many of her costars, Giancola wasn’t featured in a spinoff and wasn’t originally a part of the “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” series, which premiered in 2018, per IMDB.
But during its sixth season, which aired in 2023, Giancola made her return to the show — and had a new boyfriend to show off.
Giancola and May confirmed their relationship in 2021, according to People, and announced their engagement in 2024.
During the Nov. 21 episode of the show, Giancola opened up about her first pregnancy, which ended in a pregnancy loss, according to People.
"This has been a very long process,” she said in a confessional. "Just the thought of even being pregnant was such a magical moment for me, and just to have that taken away. It's devastating for me."
The couple were undergoing a round of in-vitro fertilization (IVF) at the time, but the embryo didn’t survive.
"He's so positive and uplifting. He's so special to me, and I just am so thankful for him," Giancola said of May, who was by her side the entire time. "I just love him."
Season 8 of “Jersey Shore: Family Vacation” premiered on May 29 on MTV and Paramount+.
