“Welcome to the world our sweet baby Faith. It’s our greatest honor getting to love you, you heaven-sent girlie.”
Scotty McCreery is officially a father of two.
The 31-year-old country music star, who won season 10 of “American Idol” in 2011, welcomed his second baby boy on Sept. 18 — though his older son might be a little disappointed in the name he chose.
“Oliver Cooke McCreery joined our family on September 18th,” Scotty McCreery’s wife, Gabi McCreery, wrote in a Sept. 23 Instagram caption alongside photos of the newly-minted family of four.
“Can’t imagine life without him, we love him so berry much!!” she added.
The couple’s baby announcement comes just a few days after McCreery revealed the baby name his 2-year-old son Avery suggested for his little brother.
“Being from the Carolinas, we love our Bojangles,” McCreery said in an interview with CMT. “And he got locked in on a name called Bo Berry McCreery.”
McCreery and his wife tried explaining to Avery that it’s unlikely to happen, but he doubled down on it.
“He’s like, ‘No, I want Bo Berry!’” McCreery recalled. “So, we’ll see if he’s a little disappointed once he finds out the real name, but it’s been fun.”

Despite going with Oliver, McCreery’s son might’ve been onto something with Bo Berry.
According to the Social Security Administration, the name Bo was given to 692 baby boys and 16 baby girls in 2024. It was the 451st most popular boy’s name in the United States last year.
The name has been on a steady incline since 2000 when it ranked 978th.
Berry is a little more unique, but was still given to 10 baby boys and six baby girls, while the name Oliver has been the third most popular boy’s name each year since 2019 (behind Liam and Noah).
“Cutest little Bo Berry ever! Congratulations!!” one fan wrote under Gabi’s announcement post.
“Aww little "Bo berry" 🤭 congratulations,” another fan wrote.
“The most perfect little boy! We love you 4 so much,” McCreery’s sister, Ashley, added in the comment section.
“We are so happy for y’all! What a beautiful family God is creating—hugs to all of you! Your home just grew by 2 more feet!” fellow country music star Randy Travis wrote.
Scotty McCreery’s baby news comes two months after deep family loss
The baby news comes just two months after McCreery opened up about two painful losses.
On July 10, the “Five More Minutes” singer took to his Instagram to reveal that both his Grandma Janet and Grandma Paquita had died on July 9 — just a few hours apart.
“From being on the farm in Elizabeth City or visiting the Outer Banks with Grandma Janet. And then the incredible memories we made at the backyard pool in Pinehurst,” he wrote in the post.
“I’m choosing to remember the great memories we all made with both of them,” he continued. “There really are too many to count.”

Fans might remember Grandma Paquita from a 2018 episode of “Family Feud,” when McCreery and some of his family competed on the show.
McCreery was joined by his father Mike, wife Gabi, her father Merrick and Grandma Paquita.
The family ended up winning the main game before cruising through the “Fast Money” round en route to winning $25,000 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
McCreery and his wife met in kindergarten and started dating during their senior year of high school, according to People.
The couple tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first son Merrick, who goes by Avery, on Oct. 24, 2022.
“Never known a love like this,” Gabi wrote in an Instagram post at the time. “Merrick ‘Avery’ McCreery joined us 11 days early on October 24th at 4:34am! 7 lbs 13oz of nothin but love.”
The couple announced their second pregnancy on May 22.
