"I'm really happy for Riley. She's got an amazing husband and two great children.”
Thomas Rhett is breaking tradition when it comes to his baby’s gender reveal.
The 35-year-old Grammy-nominated country music singer is expecting his fifth child with his wife Lauren Akins, whom he has been married to since October 2012, according to People.
The couple are already parents to Willa Gray, 9, Ada James, 6, Lennon Love, 5, and Lillie Carolina, 3.
In an interview with Taste of Country Nights, Rhett shared new details about the incoming baby and opened up about what he and his wife are doing differently the fifth time around the block.

"Due date is in March,” he told host Evan Paul. “And we are going to wait until the day of, man, to figure out what the gender is.”
According to Rhett, this is the first time the couple are waiting to learn their baby’s gender.
"It's terrifying for me, but there's not many surprises left in this world, and I feel that's one that you kinda get to be surprised with, if you choose to,” he said of deciding against a traditional gender reveal.
Despite the added nerves, Rhett says that he and his wife are “genuinely excited” to add to their family.
His comments come just three weeks after the couple announced their pregnancy on Instagram.

In the video, Thomas Rhett’s wife asks the country music star if he’s ready before turning her back and walking up to her husband — who was singing his hit song “Life Changes” with a guitar in his hand.
But the lyrics were a little different this time around.
“I was wrapping my head around being a dad / A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had / Now Lauren's showing, got one on the way / Yeah, that's five under 10, hey, what can I say?” he sang.
In the caption of the post, Rhett said he has some “really excited big sisters in our house.”
A look back at how Thomas Rhett’s family got here
Thomas Rhett and Lauren Akins’ history dates all the way back to their childhood.
The couple both grew up in Nashville and went to the same elementary school before sparking a friendship while at camp in the sixth grade and later dating for six months at the age of 15, per People.
They reunited in 2011, dated again for six months, got engaged later that year and tied the knot in 2012.
After years of trying to conceive naturally, the couple met a girl in Uganda who was born in 2015. They immediately started the adoption process before finding out they were pregnant a few months later.

According to People, their first daughter Willa Gray was adopted in May 2017. Their second daughter, Ada James, was born on Aug. 12, 2017.
But the couple didn’t stop there.
Rhett and Akins have since welcomed two more daughters into their family — Lennon Love, born on Feb. 10, 2020, and Lillie Carolina, born on Nov. 15, 2021.
