Travis Hunter is starting his rookie season as a new father.
The 22-year-old two-way football player, who was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, shared some exciting news on his YouTube channel on Aug. 27.
In the video, titled “Dear Son…,” the NFL rookie announced the birth of his baby boy with wife Leanna De La Fuente.

The vlog documented the timeline leading up to the baby’s arrival — including the moment they found out they were pregnant, the day Hunter got drafted and the first time they heard their baby cry.
The newborn baby’s name and date of birth have yet to be announced.
Hunter and De La Fuente met while in high school, per ESPN, and went public with their relationship in March 2022, one month after making his college football debut with the Jackson State Tigers.
De La Fuente announced their engagement on Instagram in February 2024 and later supported her then-fiancé in November when he won the Heisman Trophy.
The couple became husband and wife on May 24 after three years of dating.
“You make me the happiest woman on this planet and I am so excited to spend forever with you,” De La Fuente wrote in the caption of an Instagram post two days later.
Travis Hunter’s wife says she dreamed of having a baby boy
Hunter and De La Fuente kept their pregnancy a secret up until their Aug. 27 baby announcement.
At one point in the vlog, De La Fuente shared a look at a note she wrote in her phone on Feb. 28 that said she had a dream that her “baby was a boy with lots and lots of curly hair.”
The video was taken one month later — at which point she learned that her dream was right.
“I knew it was going to be a boy,” she said in the video after learning the baby’s gender.
Elsewhere in the vlog, De La Fuente took a video of Hunter after he was drafted by the Jaguars. The NFL rookie proceeded to share a few messages with his future son.
“See, and then you gonna come up, and you gonna be just like me and you’ll get drafted to Jacksonville,” he said of his son into the camera while looking at houses in Jacksonville.
When asked if he had anything else to say to the baby, Hunter replied: “Gotta be better than me.”
It’s unclear when the baby was born, but the baby announcement comes nearly one week before Hunter and his Jaguars take the field for their first game of the 2025 regular season.
