“I also grew up without a father. So, I want to do it right when I do do it.”
Some twins have an unbreakable connection — and twin sisters Rachel Schmidtberger and Lindsey Denny are no exception.
That unbreakable connection has led Schmidtberger and Denny down similar paths in life. They completed undergrad and medical school at the University of Texas together and even became dermatologists at the same practice, Texas Dermatology.

But what happened next was something so unique even they couldn't plan it.
According to Click2Houston, Denny learned around Christmas that she and her husband were pregnant with their first child after nearly “giving up” due to fertility issues.
“We were thrilled because our whole family was here, so we told everybody,” Denny said in an interview shared by KHOU.
One day later, Schmidtberger — who had a feeling she might be pregnant at the time — confirmed that she, too, was about to welcome a second child.
It wasn’t long before the twin sisters learned that they shared the same due date.
On Aug. 26, that day came — and they welcomed their baby boys just 12 hours apart at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
To add to their undeniable twin connection, both mothers shared the same OB/GYN, Dr. Sharon Vila-Wright, who changed her schedule to ensure she was at the Texas children’s hospital for both births.
“It’s been really fun being pregnant together,” Denny said in the interview. “Especially because (Schmidtberger) already did it, so I could ask her along the way.”
According to KHOU, Schmidtberger and her husband, Michael, gave birth to a boy named Owen Michael Hamilton. Denny and her husband, Jared, welcomed a boy named Hayes Michael Denny.
Since the two boys share a birthday and are genetically half-siblings, the twin sisters are dubbing their baby’s “brother cousins.”
According to her biography at Texas Dermatology, Schmidtberger and her husband are also parents to a French Bulldog and Boston Terrier — in addition to their daughter.

And, yes, as you might’ve guessed, Denny and her husband also have two dogs — a golden retriever and a Morkie, according to her biography.
