WWE couple Naomi, Jimmy Uso share major announcement after she wasn’t medically cleared to fight

Ryan Brennan | August 20, 2025

WWE’s Naomi and Jimmy Uso had the best news to share during its Monday Night Raw on Aug. 18.

After Naomi, who entered the night as the women’s world champion, walked into the ring with her belt over her shoulder, she fought back tears as she directed the audience to look at the jumbotron.

The WWE, which shared a video of her dramatic entrance on YouTube, had previously announced that she wasn’t medically cleared to defend her title that night and would have to vacate the belt.

With all eyes on the jumbotron, Naomi and her husband Jimmy Uso, also a WWE star, explained why.

“We need y’all to proceed with caution,” Uso, whose real name is Jonathan Fatu, said — referring to his wife’s famous catchphrase. “Because there is a baby on board. We pregnant! We all the way pregnant!”

Jimmy Uso’s wife Naomi added in the video: “I gotta get used to saying it. I’m pregnant and I’m having a baby.”

Later that night, WWE released the couple’s full interview on “What’s Your Story?” with host Steph McMahon, where they opened up about the exciting news and the miracle behind it.

“It’s been a long journey with fertility issues that I’ve had,” Naomi, whose real name is Trinity Fatu, told McMahon. “I just really didn’t think it was possible.”

Naomi went on to reveal that she had an oophorectomy to remove one of her ovaries early on in her relationship with Uso before undergoing a myomasectomy years later in 2020.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, “a myomectomy is a procedure that allows surgeons to remove uterine fibroids.”

Naomi further revealed that she had a lot of big fibroids that needed to be removed and that the surgery was four hours longer than initially expected. It resulted in her missing six months of WWE action.

“It also left a lot of scar tissue,” she added of the surgery. “On top of being older, 37 now, and on top of only having one ovary, we thought for sure that naturally, I just couldn’t anymore.”

The couple, who have been married since 2014, according to E! News, said that they were advised that they would likely need help getting pregnant — which they have since proved wrong.

Naomi clarifies that she and Jimmy Uso are seven weeks pregnant

Elsewhere in the interview, Naomi shared that she’s experiencing “so many emotions” from her pregnancy, including happiness, excitement, nervousness and fear.

“So much has happened in the last week,” she said. “I found out Sunday, called him, had to go to work. Stressed about having to tell work.”

Naomi, who will be a first-time mother, is currently seven weeks pregnant, as of the interview. She’s also a stepmom to Uso’s two older kids — Jaiden and Jayla — from a previous relationship, per E! News.

She said all of her stress and worry went away when she saw her baby’s heartbeat for the first time.

“And I knew that what is ahead of me, there’s nothing more important than that now,” she said of her miracle baby. “So, now I just wanna get through this healthy because I am high risk.”

Despite the pregnancy, Naomi says her career in the WWE is far from over.

During Monday Night Raw on Aug. 18, Naomi laid her belt down in the ring and told the WWE to do what they want with her title for now. But she’ll be back.

“I’m going to give you heifers some nine months and some change to do whatever you want to do with my title,” she said into the mic, per Us Weekly
