Most expecting moms are gaining about a pound a week, but everyone is different.
What You should expect in Week 18
You’re officially in your fifth month of pregnancy, also known as week 18. Just two more weeks until the halfway point!
Hey, mama, your appetite is likely growing, and that’s a good thing.
As BabyCenter reports, you should be adding about 340 extra calories to your daily intake.
The healthiest way to do this is by eating healthy snacks in between your typical meals.
And if you’ve just had an ultrasound, odds are you saw all of your baby’s adorable features, including their eyes, nose, and lips!
And while these other features may not be easily distinguished during an ultrasound, your baby also has eyelids, eyebrows, eyelashes, nails, and hair as well.
In addition to their physical features being developed, so are their uterus and fallopian tubes or their genitals, depending on if you are having a girl or a boy, respectively.
This is also when moms may experience some swelling in their feet, ankles, hands, and fingers.
You may also experience some leg cramps. Leg cramps can often be relieved through stretches.
