This 10-year-old boy’s love notes take the phrase “monkey see monkey do” to a whole new level.
On Aug. 29, Lisa Goebel — who regularly posts videos of her life as a mom of four — took to TikTok to show how leading by example can go a long way when raising a household of four boys.
Her post included photos of love notes her 10-year-old son left her on the refrigerator and pantry door.
“Hey mom. Here’s a thank you gift for being the best mom and good morning. I love you,” one note read.

“Hi, good morning mom. I hope you have a good day. I’m just helping you out I hope your back feels better soon. I love you,” the second note read.
He then wrote, “Have a good day Mom,” but crossed out the “good” and wrote “great” instead.
“To: Best mom ever. From: Favorite son,” he signed the note.
Goebel theorized that her son has “been watching his Dad & I leave each other notes,” which is what inspired his adorable behavior.
“The best way to raise them right is to lead by example,” she wrote in the caption. “They will pick up on patterns and behavior.. So let it be the good stuff that they absorb and mirror.”
“This kid has the kindest heart,” she added.

In an interview with People, published Sept. 12, Goebel said that her family regularly writes notes to each other to ensure “messages of love” never go unnoticed.
"It makes us proud to know we've shown them how great showing your love can be,” she told the outlet.
"If we can be the example of the good stuff in life, then we've succeeded as parents! This IS the good stuff," she added.

Goebel went on to explain how her kids would often see the notes she left for her husband — whether it be on the foil of his sandwiches for work or on the kitchen counter. Some were even “made of candy.”
"Just messages of love back and forth before his workday started,” she told People.
"We've received notes from all four of our boys over the years," she added. "Sweet, kind-hearted notes filled with their love for us. Many I've kept...like bottled pieces of their hearts that I can keep forever."
Goebel thanks followers for making son’s love notes go viral
On Sept. 12, Goebel returned to TikTok to post an emotional thank you to everyone who watched, shared and commented on her Aug. 29 video.
The original video garnered more than 679,000 views, 126,000 likes and hundreds of comments, per TikTok.
With tears in her eyes, she opened up about how everyone’s support has impacted her and her son.
“So, don’t mind me. I’ve been crying, shedding some tears. Happy tears — not sad tears,” she said at the beginning of the video before taking a moment to gather herself.
Goebel went on to explain how she showed her son all the “kind comments” that were written about him — and he read them out loud, one by one, while sitting with her on the couch.

“As he read them, he would smile. Some of the meme pics made him laugh,” she said. “Then there would be the ones who said how great of a job we were doing as parents.”
At one point, while reading the comments, her son was brought to tears.
“I could realize then that what was happening — he was understanding the gravity of the love and the praise that he was receiving,” she said in the video.
Goebel then thanked everyone for making an impact on her son and helping to reassure him that his “amazing heart” doesn’t go unnoticed.
“Thank you for seeing his heart,” she continued.
