Emilie and Brady Kiser share a 6-month old son Theodore and 3-year-old son Trigg, who died in May.
Shaun Alexander’s family huddle is about to get a little bit bigger.
The 48-year-old retired NFL running back, who was the league’s Most Valuable Player in 2005, took to the “Up & Adams Show” with Kay Adams on Sept. 25 to reveal that his wife Valerie is pregnant.
This will be the couple’s 14th child after already welcoming 10 daughters and three sons.
The pregnancy announcement came more than 17 minutes into the episode when Adams displayed a photo of Alexander’s large family — leading him to reveal the unexpected.
“We’re just not starting to tell people, but No. 14 is in the belly,” he said to Adams’ surprise.
“You’re the first one I’ve told on TV,” he added.
Later in the episode, Adams and Alexander joked about all the headlines retired quarterback Philip Rivers makes with his 10 children — yet no one ever seems to talk about Shaun Alexander’s kids.
“They slacking,” Alexander joked of Rivers and his wife Tiffany.
According to People, Alexander and his wife tied the knot in 2002 — two years after Alexander was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft.
He was named MVP several years later after leading the league with 1,880 rushing yards and 27 rushing touchdowns — the second most in a single season in NFL history.

He and his wife share 10 girls, including Judea, Hope, Hosanna, Eternity, Torah, Honor, Temple, Eden, Trinity and Heaven, and three boys — Joseph, Justus and Jedidiah.
According to Rick Karle of WBRC FOX6, Alexander’s daughter Torah “passed away in 2017 at the age of 70 days.”
Shaun Alexander’s wife — and his family as a whole — maintain a rather private life, though he does feature them on his social media every once in a while.
Most recently, Alexander attended the 2025 NFL Draft with his three sons as a birthday gift to Jedidiah.
“I asked Jedidiah what he wanted for his birthday; He said go somewhere with you. So, draft it was. Great time with my boys,” he wrote in an Instagram caption.
Shaun Alexander opens up about his faith-based learning community for kids
Alexander’s pregnancy announcement came after Adams asked him about his family’s homeschooling initiative he founded with his wife a few years ago.
The initiative is called Harvest Covenant and it’s a “private, faith-based learning community,” according to its website — which further reveals that Alexander and his wife homeschool their 12 children.
Harvest Covenant brings together homeschooled kids in the area and gives them an environment to learn, play sports and study the Bible.
“It’s all about helping people become the best version of themselves, teaching them about faith,” he told Adams. “And it just so happens that we get to play some great football.”
According to Instagram, Alexander is the head coach of the football team — the Harvest Covenant Lions.
“I’ve got some boys that can play,” he said of the team. “You just don’t know until they get out there.”
