This Halloween, there’s no tricks with our FREE Boneless Wings deal.”
The iconic McDonald’s Happy Meal® Boo Buckets are back — and better than ever.
In a press release, published Oct. 1, the beloved fast food chain revealed that their Boo Bucket will make their “haunting return” starting Oct. 21 — just in time for the 2025 spooky season.
And they’re adding two new additions to the bucket family.
As is tradition, the lineup will include a white bucket (ghost), orange bucket (pumpkin) and green bucket (goblin) — but also a black bucket (cat) and red bucket (zombie).

“Each bucket has its own creepy, kooky and cute expressions, so you can collect them all! Fans can even dress up their pails with Halloween themed stickers,” the press release said.
The McDonald’s Boo Buckets have become a mainstay for the company since their debut in 1986.
Their latest return comes one year after fans slammed the company for its not-so-beloved redesign that had some collectors calling them the “worst boo bucket designs released yet,” according to Today.com.
This year’s lineup appears to be more in line with the designs fans have come to know and love.

According to a photo shared by Markie Devo on X, the Cat and Zombie buckets will feature three different faces on one bucket. Customers will receive one bucket per Happy Meal while supplies last.
Some fans on X were a little disappointed that the Zombie and Goblin colors weren’t swapped. Then again, that would go against the tradition of having a green Goblin bucket.
The return of the McDonald’s Halloween Boo Buckets will come just a few weeks after the return of the beloved Monopoly game — which is coming back to McDonald’s on Oct. 6, per Instagram.
McDonald’s isn’t the only fast food chain preparing for spooky season
Adults and kids alike will have plenty of opportunity to add to their Halloween bucket collections this year.
Last month, Burger King announced the return of its BK Halloween Buckets after a one-year hiatus — along with a new lineup of Halloween-inspired kids toys for its King Jr. Meals, according to Today.com.
The toys have been available since Sept. 16, while the buckets make their return on Oct. 16.

Burger King will also recently announced its first-ever Monster Menu, which features a Jack-O-Lantern Whopper, Vampire Nuggets, Mummy Mozzarella Fries and Franken-Candy Sundae, per Today.com.
And if that’s not enough to get you in the spooky spirit, Wendy’s is bringing back its Frosty Frights Kids’ Meals — though it won’t be bringing back its beloved Boo! Bags.
The kids’ meals “features the choice of a 4-piece chicken nuggets, a hamburger or cheeseburger, plus Jr. Hot & Crispy Fries or Apple Bites and a kids’ drink,” according to Today.com.
