Millions of Americans are set to lose their SNAP benefits on Nov. 1 due to the government shutdown.
But one popular baby formula brand is stepping up to help those in need.
On Oct. 24, Bobbie — a leading formula brand — announced a 50% discount on its Bobbie Organic Original infant formula to SNAP-eligible families who will see their benefits cut amid the shutdown.
“Feeding cannot wait on funding. So while the government remains shut down, we’re showing up,” the company wrote in the Instagram caption.
The Bobbie baby formula, which usually costs $28 per can, will only cost $14 for SNAP-eligible families.
“We realize this is not a full solution to the systemic issues happening, or the stress so many families are under — but it’s how we are able to urgently show up for families in this moment,” the company added.
“As an American-made, mom-led company, my hope is this helps some families who are navigating how to keep their babies fed during this expected funding gap,” Bobbie continued.
The announcement comes less than one month after the government shutdown began, per NBC News.

The government shutdown, effective as of Oct. 1, occurred as a result of Congress failing to pass funding legislation to finance federal government operations and agencies for the 2026 fiscal year.
One of the affected operations is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, also known as SNAP.
SNAP, commonly referred to as “food stamps,” is the largest federal nutrition assistance program in the United States. It provides monthly benefits to help low-income individuals and families buy healthy food.
“Roughly 42 million Americans rely on food stamps that arrive every month on their electronic benefit transfer cards,” according to CBS News — and that doesn’t include the millions who are denied benefits.
On Oct. 27, the USDA confirmed what many families feared amid the ongoing government shutdown.
“Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 01,” the USDA — which administers the program — wrote in a statement on their website.
How can parents purchase SNAP-eligible Bobbie baby formula?
As of Oct. 24, parents can purchase Bobbie’s SNAP-eligible Organic Infant Formula online.
While the website clarifies that “purchases cannot be made with EBT,” families can upload their SNAP Eligibility letter prior to purchase to confirm that they’re eligible for the 50% discount.

Purchases are limited to two items and the offer is available to “new customers only.”
Those interested can purchase one can for $14 (plus $3.50 per can for shipping) or a three-can pack for $42 (plus $8.50 per pack for shipping).
“Bobbie Organic Infant Formula is a USDA Organic, European-style formula manufactured in the U.S. with the same protein ratio as breast milk to support healthy, comfortable digestion,” the site reads.
In addition to the 50% discount, Bobbie is also supporting new moms with a massive donation.
In their Oct. 24 Instagram announcement, the baby formula brand revealed that they’ve donated $850,000 worth of baby formula to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, which is part of Feeding America.
