“But it's you. You are right there. I don't understand. How does he not know?”
Kathie Lee Gifford’s grandchildren are proof that her parenting legacy didn’t stop with her kids.
The 72-year-old former “Today” show co-host appeared on Hoda Kotb's "Making Space" podcast on Jan. 21 when she opened up about her growing family now that her kids are parents of their own.
And she wasn’t shy about how much life can change in three years.
“I have five grandchildren in three years,” Gifford said before making a hilarious face to the camera. “If I’m twitching weird it’s because it’s pandemonium.”

She went on to tell an adorable story about just how much her grandchildren have taken after her.
"I was out to lunch. Cody’s little boy Frankie is 3 and a half, and little Ford just turned 2, and all the wait staff comes by and they both put out their hands out to everybody to go, 'Nice to meet you!'" she said.
Kotb, who co-hosted the “Today” show with Gifford for 11 years, wasn’t surprised by the story.
“That was your thing, by the way, with your kids,” Kotb said.
"There’s so many things, obviously, that never left me, but the way you made your kids say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and how you treat people...," she added.
According to Gifford, her kids have “gone beyond” her own parenting style and have taught their kids to “make eye contact” at two years old and say, “Nice to meet you,” with a handshake.
Her grandkids even go as far as saying, “Happy New Year” and “God bless you” when saying goodbye.

Gifford’s parenting update comes four months after she welcomed another grandchild into the family.
The former “Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee” host shares two kids of her own — son Cody Newton, 35, and daughter Cassidy Erin, 32 — with her ex-husband Frank Gifford, who died in 2015, per People.
Cody shares three kids — sons Frank, 3, and Ford, 2, and daughter Faith, born in September — with his wife Erika.
Cassidy, meanwhile, shares two kids — son Finn, 2, and daughter Rosie, born in June — with her husband Ben Wierda.
Now that they’re grown up, Kathie Lee Gifford’s kids have made her quite the proud mom.
“I think that’s one of the most joyful things in my life is watching my children be such amazing parents,” Gifford told Kotb. “If Frank and I did anything right, it would be that.”
She went on to describe Rosie, whom she calls “Rosie Cheeks,” as the “biggest baby.”
