“It's gonna be hard, but this is important, and I've got to do this.”
Dr. Oz’s granddaughter is doing well after fainting during a visit inside the White House.
The 64-year-old surgeon-turned-TV-host, born Mehmet Cengiz Oz, was sworn in as the new administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) on April 18 when things went sideways.
At the time, several reports indicated that a family member had fainted inside the Oval Office — where the swearing-in ceremony was being held.

Members of the press were immediately escorted out of the office. Moments later, a young girl “was seen walking out of the room with support,” per NBC News.
That young girl was later identified as Philomena "Philo" Jovanovic — Dr. Oz’s 11-year-old granddaughter.
Philo attended the ceremony with her parents — Dr. Oz’s daughter Daphne Oz and her husband John Jovanovic — and their son, Jovan.
On April 20, Dr. Oz took to Instagram to provide a health update on Philo after what he described as an “eventful” afternoon at the ceremony.
“I am grateful to report she recovered quickly and was treated to delicious Navy Mess soft serve,” Dr. Oz wrote in the caption alongside a photo of Philo and Jovan eating a bowl of ice cream.
She was also treated to “some very special time speaking with President Trump while they explored the treasure drawer of the Resolute Desk together,” per Dr. Oz.

In an Instagram post of her own, Daphne Oz shared a similar recollection of Philo’s “big day.”
“We are so grateful it was nothing serious, and she bounced right back — with a trip for some delicious Navy Mess soft serve for good measure!!” Daphne Oz wrote in the caption.
The mother-of-four — who also shares daughters Giovanna Ines and Domenica Celine with her husband, per Today — thanked the White House team and medical staff for being “so kind” to Philo.
“Most of all, thank you to President Trump who went out of his way to make both our children feel comfortable in a stressful situation,” she wrote — describing Trump as “warm, caring and generous.”
The caption was coupled with a series of photos and videos of her family at the ceremony.
“He spent personal time with each of them at the Resolute Desk and gifted them treasures to take home,” she recalled in the caption. “A more than memorable day at the White House for all of us!!”
Daphne Oz went on to congratulate her father on this “next chapter” of his life.
“I am always in awe of the myriad ways he has found to truly help and save lives, first as a cardio thoracic surgeon, then on his tv show,” she wrote in the caption.
“This next chapter is a huge undertaking to help every American regain their hope for health — the best data, the best care, the best outcomes — and I am rooting for all of us,” she added.
