Tineke “Tini” Younger is sharing her special way of honoring her late daughter with her followers.
NHL player Dylan Strome is officially a girl dad of three!
After their winning game against the Montreal Canadiens on November 20, the Washington Capitals center revealed that his wife, Tayler Strome, had given birth to their third baby girl during the game.
While missing the birth of his child was certainly not what Dylan wanted, he shared that he was extremely proud of his wife and delighted that his daughter had arrived.
"I’ve got some news for everyone," Dylan told a group of reporters gathered after the game. "While the first period was going on, my warrior of a wife had our third daughter, while we were on the ice.”
“So really proud of her,” he continued, holding back tears. "It's tough, and you obviously want to be there for the birth of your children and, um, [I] didn't know it was coming this soon, but can't wait to go see her.”
On November 21, Dylan took to Instagram to share a photo of his happy family and announce the baby’s arrival online.
In the caption, he wrote, “Girl dad x3. This one a tad different than the rest. Mom even more of a rockstar, Dad even more tears. Sutton Kimberley Strome🩷 7lbs 10oz”
In the comments, fans congratulated him on the new addition to the family.
“I cried when I saw you post game presser! I really don’t know how you skated last night knowing what was happening at home! ❤️ sending you and your family so much love! Your wife is amazing! Congratulations!!! Hopefully once you get past the disappointment you will enjoy telling her the epic story of her birth!” one fan commented on the post.
“When she is old enough to see your interview from last night she will be even more proud of both her parents,” another fan added.
Even the official Washington Capitals Instagram account got in on the joy of the moment, posting a locker room video of the players loudly cheering and clapping for Dylan as he announced his daughter’s name to them after the game.
“This was one of the best locker room run downs yet! So many great plays tonight! The boys were definitely gelling and congratulations to Stromer and his wife on their beautiful baby girl!! 🙌🏻” one fan commented on the video.
