Kelsey Grammer doesn’t mind getting the Christmas decorations out early.
The 70-year-old “Frasier” alum, who recently welcomed his fourth child with wife Kayte Walsh (and eighth child total), opened up about what holiday traditions look like in the Grammer household.
And while it involves trimming the tree “at least three weeks before Christmas,” it does come with one stipulation.
“We usually have someone who works for us go out and get the tree,” he said in an interview with People, published Nov. 5. "There's a thing in California I call celebrity pricing.”
Grammer went on to explain that he isn’t always treated fairly at a Christmas tree shop.
“I’ll find an eight- or nine-foot tree I like, and a guy will say, ‘Mr. Grammer, for you that’s going to be $1,700,’” he told People. “For my friend, they’ll say, ‘About $600.’ So, I stopped going.”
The average Christmas tree costs anywhere from $80 to $100, according to Southern Living.
And while Grammer loves a good Christmas dinner, his family avoids at least one holiday staple.

“The family doesn’t like turkey quite so much, but I try to do prime rib and a turkey and a chicken,” he said of his annual Christmas roast. “And we do Yorkshire puddings and mint sauce and all kinds of stuff.”
As for the gifts under the tree, Grammer argues that nothing is better than getting a good book.
“If somebody gives me a book that you can tell they spent some time thinking about what I might love about it," he says of his perfect gift. “That means a lot to me.”
He’ll take anything written by Shakespeare or Aristotle — and anything about the Civil War.
“I’m a big buff on that,” he said. “I’ve got some first editions, and those are the prizes for me.”
Kelsey Grammer says his family is ‘closer than ever before’ after welcoming eighth child
Grammer’s holiday comments come less than two weeks after he announced the birth of his eighth child.
“Just had our fourth one, so it just became eight kids,” he said on the Oct. 27 episode of the “Pod Meets World” podcast. "It was like three days ago. Pretty cool. Christopher — that's just joined the family."
The actor is already a father to three children — Faith, 13, Gabriel, 11, and James, 8 — with his wife Kayte Walsh, whom he has been married to since early 2011, per People.

He also has four older children — Spencer, 42, Greer, 33, Mason, 24, and Jude, 21 — from three previous relationships, including Doreen Alderman, Barrie Buckner and Camille Grammer.
While talking to People, Grammer said his family is “ecstatic” at the new addition.
“We’re all really having a great time. It’s really lovely,” he told the outlet. “We are closer than we've ever been as a family, and I'm proud of that.”
His comments also came just one day before the release of his newest Christmas movie.
The “Cheers” alum stars as Howard Miller in “The Christmas Ring,” which premiered in theatres on Nov. 6, alongside Benjamin Hollingsworth, Jana Kramer, Jessie James Decker and Daniel Considine.
