“It’s not like we talk like a family ever…”
Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor is celebrating her golden birthday.
On Wednesday, June 4, the only daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned four years old. In celebration of the big day, Markle took to Instagram.
The mom of two shared two black and white photos of Lilibet. The first, and most current, photo showed Markle snuggling Lilibet while sitting on a boat.
The second photo was taken four years ago in the moments immediately following Lilibet’s birth as Markle still laid in her hospital bed.
“Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives,” Markle captioned the Instagram photos, “and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!”
The rare photos come just a week after Markle shared a video of herself and Lilibet in matching beekeeping gear. The video showed Lilibet joining her mom as they harvested honey and honeycomb from their own personal hive.
“Look at all of that fresh honeycomb! Harvesting honey with my little honey,” Markle wrote. “Like mother, like daughter; she’s even wearing my gloves.”
During the latest episode of her "Confessions of a Female Founder" podcast, in a conversation with Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, Markle revealed her big plans for herself and for Lilibet.
While talking with Knowles, Markle marveled at her relationship with her famous daughters. "You’ve worked with the girls for years, but this is a different type of endeavor," Markle said to Knowles. "Just curious, I mean, I wonder if one day I’ll be in business with Lili and we’ll be building something?"
Knowles called working with her daughters “the best” and shared some tip on how best to work with children.
"There are difficulties sometimes because if you’re dealing with your child or you’re dealing with your mother, you know, you have disagreements," Knowles explained. "I’m the one that always caves. I’ve been like that since I was young. If my kids are mad at me, I can’t take it. I’ll apologize."
In addition to Lilibet, Markle and Prince Harry also share a son 6-year-old Archie Harrison, who celebrated his birthday last month.
