"[It's] about to happen..."
Actress Olivia Munn is sharing the sweet gesture her husband John Mulaney made on their wedding day.
While a guest on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Munn explained that prior to marrying Mulaney in 2024, she got sad that their daughter wouldn’t be at their ceremony.
Prior to marrying in July 2024, Munn and Mulaney welcomed their son Malcolm into the world in November 2021.
The couple was expecting their second child, via surrogacy, on the day they got married.
As Munn told Clarkson, she was sad that Malcolm would be in their wedding pictures but their soon-to-be daughter, Méi, wouldn’t be.
"I was telling John, ‘Ahh, I wish that [Méi] was here because in the photos when she looks back on the day Mommy and Daddy got married, Malcolm will be there, but she won’t be there,'" Munn recalled to Clarkson.
After Munn told Mulaney how she was feeling, he made it his mission to find a way to include Mei in their special day.
“He found this vintage locket and he put her sonogram picture inside so that we had it on the [day],” Munn told Clarkson. “And he surprised me with that. It was very emotional... he’s really thoughtful and sweet.”
The story even made Clarkson tear up.
Mèi was born two months after Munn and Mulaney said I do, in September 2024.
The couple opted to grow their family via surrogacy after Munn was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier in 2023.

Munn announced her battle with cancer in March 2024, after a 10 month long fight.
Munn called Mulaney "an incredibly hands-on father," who would go "to and from the hospital—taking Malcolm to the park, putting him to nap, driving to Cedars-Sinai, hanging out with me, going home, putting Malcolm to bed, coming back to me and he did it all happily."
