“I’ve sat down to write this a hundred times...”
"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson is officially a mom of three.
In a surprise announcement shared on Sunday night, Robertson announced the birth of their third daughter.
On Sunday, August 3, Robertson revealed that their daughter, Kit Caraway Huff, was born on August 1.
Kit joins Robertson and Christian Huff’s two oldest daughters, Honey James, 4, and Haven Belle, 2.
“The name. I’m crying,” one commenter wrote. “Miss Kay’s name,” the fan said, referring to Robertson’s grandmother, whose full name is Marsha Kay Carroway Robertson.
“It’s my middle name too,” Robertson said in response to the comment. “We all share it.”
“I love that,” shared another comment in response to the family name. “I also share my Nannie’s middle name and if i could have children, I would have used our middle name as well, just like you did for her name. Very sweet story, Sadie.”
Miss Kay was married to the patriarch of the Robertson family, Phil Robertson, who died in May following a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was 79 years old.
While pregnant with Kit, Robertson was open about her pregnancy. In April, the now mom of three revealed she was taken to the hospital after experiencing early contractions.
“Thursday night we got to Florida to enjoy some family time before I was supposed to speak Saturday morning at a conference in Destin. Friday afternoon I got hit with what we think was food poisoning and it was rough,” she explained, at the time.
“I ended up in the hospital having consistent contractions every 3 minutes for a couple of hours,” Robertson continued.

“Thankfully, I got the best care in a hospital and they were able to confirm I was not in pre-term labor just the aftermath of the food poisoning.”
Unfortunately, Robertson said she ended up back at the hospital two days later.
“I woke up back at the doctor with a sinus infection and bronchitis,” she explained, noting that her third “pregnancy has been wild, but I am just so thankful baby is kicking around in the womb unbothered by wild ride we’ve been on.”
“My body hurts, but I’m thankful for it,” she said. “God is good!”
Robertson and her husband five years announced they were expecting their third child together in February.
