“Unfortunately, I've had a setback."
Tamar Braxton is opening up about a near-death experience that has left her baffled.
The 48-year-old former “Braxton Family Values” star, best known as the younger sister of Toni Braxton and founding member of The Braxtons, took to her Instagram Stories to detail the tragic accident.
“I almost died Sunday,” she shared in the Story, published Aug. 19.

“I was found in a pool of blood from my friend with a face injury,” she continued, adding that it’s only getting worse “as the days go by.”
“Pray for me for real,” she wrote. “I don’t even know what happened to me.”
In the post, Braxton revealed that she fractured her nose, lost a few teeth and was struggling with mobility following the mysterious accident.
“The way I look at life now is totally different,” she added. “As my health is on the mend my mental journey begins.”
Her post came a few hours after she reposted a quote to her Instagram Stories that read, “Thank you God for waking me up today.”
The singer didn’t provide any other details as to what caused the accident or what’s next for her, per the Associated Press.
Tamar Braxton recently finished six-week tour with October London
Tamar Braxton’s accident comes more than two months after she returned to the stage.
The singer joined October London and special guest Ro James for “The October Nights: Calling All Lovers” tour, which kicked off on April 17 and came to a close on June 1, per Black Promoters Collective.
On March 23, she posted a video on Instagram sharing her excitement to be on stage again.
“It is OFFICIALLY tour time!!!!” she wrote in the post, per People. “Ima tell yall to get yall tickets!! A whole new set list… and the new music STARTS HERE!!!”
The post also included a photo of her standing on a scale that read 153.3 pounds.
“Bday is over so no more drinks…. No more carbs… all body and VOICE!!!” she said at the time. “Me and my brother @octoberlondon and I are going to give you a night you won’t forget.”
On June 20, she took to Instagram again to share that she gained 24 pounds while on tour.
“I love myself too much to complain about something I can change,” she wrote in the caption.
“I’ve started my #iloveme journey along with (Logan Herbert) to take better care of ourselves and make different choices for YOU!!…and I want you to know that it’s ok to start a new,” she added.
Logan Vincent is the lone son of Tamar Braxton and her ex-husband Vincent Herbert. The couple welcomed Logan in 2013 and announced their separation four years later, per People.
Braxton has since shared photos and videos of her and Logan’s workout sessions.

The singer also recently starred alongside her sisters in the first season of “The Braxtons” on WeTV. The show was renewed for a second season to be released later this year, according to Deadline.
