"It's so difficult.”
Travis Kelce is speaking out for the first time since announcing his engagement to Taylor Swift.
Travis talked about his engagement briefly during the newest episode of his podcast with his brother Jason Kelce after Travis and Swift announced their engagement on Instagram on Aug. 27.
“Travis, we got to talk about it. In case you missed the Instagram post heard around the world, Travis and Taylor are engaged,” Jason shared enthusiastically.
“Thank you guys for the congratulations that you sent out last week,” Travis said responding to the fun video Jason and the “New Heights” team created to share their well wishes with the newly engaged couple.

“Oh, you saw it?” Jason asked Travis. “Yes, I did. It was very nice of you, Jason. It was very nice of you. Although you had already congratulated me. You had to do it on behalf of ‘New Heights.’ And the ‘New Heights’ team. Brandon had a great blanket.
“That’s right,” Travis shared. “And I appreciate everybody that reached out and sent something and all the posts and all the excitement that's been going on, it's been really fun telling everybody who I'm going to be spending the rest of my life with.”
“There's something different about calling somebody your fiancé. There's something more, way, way more official to it,” Jason told Travis.
“Yeah, 100% I felt that at the game. Actually, it was my first time introducing Taylor as my fiancé to a few of my teammates,” Travis said after attending his Alma mater’s game at the Chief’s stadium in August.
“Don't you get giddy saying it?” Jason asked. “I did. Yeah, I still get giddy,” Travis shared. “It's exciting times.”
As for any advice he has for others preparing to get engaged, Travis said it’s all about knowing your partner.
“You got to know your gal or your significant other. You got to know ‘em. And it's gotta, you can't let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way,” Travis explained.
“You can't read about it in a Cosmopolitan magazine and expect that they're going to know your person. You gotta know your person,” Jason agreed.
“I would just say, know your partner, know who you're doing it for, and do it for the right reasons, baby,” Travis added. “Everything else will be beautiful.”
