Sara Vallone | September 2, 2025

A little more than three months after her beloved husband’s passing, “Today" show co-host, Sheinelle Jones has announced her return to the show.

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, Jones’ co-host Savannah Guthrie announced Jones’ return, revealing that “this Friday, our beloved Sheinelle will be returning to the show.”

After making an appearance during the Sept. 5 show, Jones will return as a regular co-host on the show.

According to Guthrie, on Friday, Jones will “share a deeply personal interview.” During the interview conducted by Guthrie, Jones “opens up about how she and her children are grieving the loss of their father, why she calls her experience a ‘beautiful nightmare’ and her message of hope for anyone facing their own struggles.”

The “Today" show publicly announced Uche Ojeh’s death during the May 23 episode of the show.

“With profound sadness, we share this morning that Uche Ojeh, the husband of our friend and Today co-host Sheinelle Jones, has passed away after a courageous battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma,” Guthrie shared.

“There are no words for the pain we feel for Sheinelle and their three young children. Uche was an incredible person. We all loved him. And so we want to take a moment to tell you more about the remarkable man who was Sheinelle’s perfect partner in life.”

Jones and Ojeh were married for 17 years and shared three children together, 15-year-old Kayin and 12-year-old twins, Uche and Clara.

Jones and Ojeh met while in college at Northwestern University. Jones was a freshman, Ojeh was on a college visit as a high school senior.

After nine years together, Jones and Ojeh wed in 2007 before welcoming their oldest son, Kayin, into the world in 2009 and then twins, Uche and Clara, in 2012.

In a brief statement on Instagram following Ojeh’s death, Jones wrote, “Thank you, for all of your love and support.”
