Isabel Veloso died on Jan. 10 after a four-year battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Mallory Swanson, forward for the Chicago Stars FC of the National Women's Soccer League and the United States women's national soccer team, is sharing a very exciting announcement.
She and her husband, MLB player Dansby Swanson, have officially welcomed their first child together.
The couple took to Instagram to make a joint post announcing their daughter's arrival. They shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the two of them holding the baby's hand together.
In the caption, they wrote, "Josie James Swanson 💕 we love you more than you’ll ever know babygirl."
In the comments, friends, family, and fans rushed to congratulate them.
"She is beautiful - congratulations to you and Dansby ❤️❤️" one fan commented on the announcement post.
The couple first met back in December of 2017, when they were set up on a blind date by Dansby's Braves teammate, Jace Peterson, who is married to Mallory's older sister, Brianna.
The pair kept their relationship a secret from the public for the year that followed, before making things Instagram official in December 2018.
Then, in December of 2021, Dansby also took to Instagram to announce that he had popped the question after four years together, and Mallory had said yes.
Fast forward one year to December of 2022, when the two tied the knot at the Ritz-Carlton Reynolds Lake Oconee in Greensboro, Georgia.
Since then, the two have been enjoying married life together, lifting each other up as career successes have come their way.
Then, in May of this year, they announced that they were expecting their first child, making a joint Instagram post with photos from their maternity shoot, which showed them holding up sonograms of the baby.
Now, their little bundle of joy is finally here and the couple are starting a new chapter of their story as parents together.
