Two parents and a grandparent were arrested after a 7-year-old boy’s body was discovered in a freezer in their Lynwood, California, home.
Darius Rucker is about to be a married man again.
The 59-year-old “Wagon Wheel” singer, who first rose to fame as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish, took to Instagram on Oct. 8 to announce his engagement to singer and TikTok star Emily Deahl.
“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known,” he wrote in the caption alongside a black and white photo of him getting down on one knee (with no shoes on) as Deahl smiled.
“The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to,” he added.
Fans, friends and fellow country music stars took to the comment section to share their excitement.
“Congrats D! I'd be more than happy to sing at the wedding for you,” former NFL tight end Kyle Rudolph wrote.
“Let’s gooooooooo!! Happy for you bud!!!” former NFL wide receiver Golden Tate added.
“The best addition to the family,” Emily Deahl’s sister, Erica, commented.
Country music singers Chuck Wicks, Tony Jackson, Jake Owen, Miranda Lambert and Russell Dickerson, singer Parson James and radio personality Bobby Bones also congratulated the engaged couple.

Darius Rucker’s engagement announcement comes five years after his divorce to Beth Leonard.
The former couple wed in 2000 before announcing their divorce in 2020, according to Taste of Country. They share two children together — daughter Daniela Rose, 24, and son Jack, 20.
Rucker also shares a 30-year-old daughter, Carolyn, with his ex-girlfriend Elizabeth Phillips.

The engagement also comes just one month after the couple hard-launched their relationship.
The couple took to Instagram on Sept. 8 to share a photo of themselves in front of the Sphere in Las Vegas before taking in “The Wizard of Oz” experience.
“Wizard of Oz at @spherevegas with my love & my boys. 1000/10!!!!!” he wrote in the caption.
According to Fox News, Deahl took to her Instagram Stories to celebrate the engagement while also confirming the relationship for the first time publicly.
"I never intended on keeping this part of my life from you guys for so long, but somewhere along the way of loving him I discovered how sacred love is to me. And all I wanted to do was protect it," she wrote.
"Damn I'm glad I don't have to spend the time photoshopping him out of every photo now,” she added.
On Oct. 7, she posted a video of her at a Lady Gaga concert with what appears to be Rucker speaking in the background.
“When your man fully supports your love for someone else,” she wrote in a text overlay.
According to Taste of Country, the couple have likely been dating for at least one year.
Deahl, who grew up in South Carolina, moved to Los Angeles as a teenager and eventually Nashville to pursue a career in music, according to her website.
In a YouTube video, published April 27, Deahl revealed that she moved to London in January.
Rucker, who was also born and raised in South Carolina, announced on Jan. 29 that he, too, had moved to London — though it’s unclear if he was dating Deahl at the time.
Deahl is a singer-songwriter in her own right, though she has also built a following on TikTok as a lifestyle content creator.
"It took me a long time to figure out who I wanted to be and what I wanted to say and to be very honest, TikTok helped me with that," she said in a 2023 interview with Canvas Rebel.
"I’ve always felt comfortable being myself on that platform and turning every spur of the moment idea into piece of content that people can engage with in real time,” she added.
