Nick Jonas Shares His Favorite 'Weird' Snack and It's One Your Kids Probably Like Too

Sara Vallone | August 22, 2025

When it comes to “weird food” combinations, singer and actor Nick Jonas has a favorite, and it’s likely one your kids would enjoy too.

While chatting with the popular TikTok show “Are You Okay?” Jonas was asked if he has any “weird food combos” he enjoys. The 32-year-old dad of one admitted that he actually has two that he really enjoys.

One is the classic French fries dipped in a Wendy’s frosty, which Jonas said is “fire.”

The second is a classic other millennials are likely fond of as well. “I love ‘Ants on a Log,’ which is basically like a treat for children,” Jonas admits. “It’s celery, almond butter or peanut butter and raisins.”

“Ants on a log as an adult, I think it's gross,” the host admitted. “You don’t have to eat it,” Jonas responded.

According to Food52, the origins of the classic “Ants on a Log” snack are “weirdly untraceable.”

“While cookbooks confirm that the American practice of stuffing celery began in the early 20th century as an appetizer for parties and adult gatherings, it didn’t become a vital part of lunchboxes and playdates until decades later,” Food 52 reported in 2019, leaving the origins of the childhood snack “murky” at best.

However, it’s reported that the “Ant on a Log” recipe was first printed on Feb. 15, 1959 by the Star Tribune. The article was written to encourage kids to help out their parents in the kitchen, per Food 52.

“Anne Marie is working on snacks. Popcorn, cheese dips, and the other night, ants on a log have been some of the foods the family has shared,” the 70-year-old article claimed.

Yet, despite its largely untraceable origins, Food 52 reports that over the years it has received many different variations, including “‘Ants on a Slip ‘n’ Slide’ (an added layer of honey), ‘Fire Ants on a Log’ (cranberries), ‘Ghost Ants on a Log’ (mini marshmallows), and ‘Ants on Vacation’ (no raisins).”

Which, if any, have you tried?
