“Oh and this happened yesterday!”
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are moving forward as co-parents, but not partners.
On July 3, the former couple, who have been engaged since 2019 and share a 4-year-old daughter together, confirmed their rumored split and detailed what’s next in a statement shared by People.
The news comes one week after Bloom showed up solo to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding.

"Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting," representatives for the couple wrote in the statement, per People.
"They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect,” the statement continued.
Bloom and Perry first met in 2016 at a Golden Globes afterparty, according to People.
Perry detailed the couple’s movie-like origin story during a 2019 episode of “American Idol,” back when she was a judge on the show.
The “Bon appétit” singer recalled ordering In-N-Out burgers when Bloom entered the scene, per People.
“All of a sudden I see my boyfriend's hand — he wasn't even sitting at our table — he just swoops in and he grabs it and I was like, 'Hey that's my burger!'” Perry remembered.
The pair went Instagram official several months later, but confirmed their first split the following year.
Perry and Bloom later rekindled their relationship and made their red carpet debut as a couple in September 2018 at the Gala for the Global Ocean in Monaco.
Bloom proposed to Perry on Valentine’s Day in 2019 — and Perry said, “Yes!”
One year later, the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together. They planned a wedding later that year, but had to cancel their plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Their daughter, Daisy Dove, was born in August 2020. Bloom also has a 14-year-old son Flynn, whom he shares with his ex-wife Miranda Kerr.
Perry and Bloom have ‘suffered through the same problems’ for years
Perry and Bloom’s recent split comes after months of speculation — and years of alleged problems.
"Katy and Orlando have been suffering through the same problems that have plagued them for years," one source close to the couple told People in an article published July 1.
On July 2, Bloom exacerbated rumors of a potential split with several cryptic quotes on Instagram.
In the post, Bloom shared a series of quotes from Carl Gustav Jung about loneliness, being unable to communicate, the difference between sense and nonsense, and enlightenment.
Other Instagram posts alluded to a “new beginning” and overcoming fears with courage, per People.
