New reports have revealed Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman is mourning the death of his young grandson.
On Sunday, July 20, TMZ reported that Dog the Bounty Hunter’s grandson Anthony was accidentally shot and killed by his stepson, Anthony’s father, Gregory Zecca. Anthony was just 13 years old.
The incident allegedly took place on Saturday, July 19 inside their Naples, Florida apartment, according to TMZ.
In a statement shared with TMZ by representatives for Dog and his wife Francie Frane, the couple said, "We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and would ask for continued prayers as we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony."
An investigation into the “isolated incident” is ongoing. No arrests have been made in connection to the accidental shooting, TMZ reported.
Dog and Francie have been married since 2022. Both have been married before and both Dog and Francie have lost their partners to cancer.
According to People, Dog, who has been married five times, has 13 children with six different women. His last wife, Beth, died in 2019 following a battle with throat cancer.
Francie shared Gregory with her late husband, who also passed away. Gregory was a member of Dog’s bounty hunting team, TMZ reports.
Anthony has occasionally been featured on Dog and Francie’s Instagram pages as they shared snapshots of themselves enjoying time together as a family.
