Influencer Stacey Hatfield Dead Following 'Rare' Labor Complications, Husband Confirms

Katherine Schaffstall | October 22, 2025

Food influencer Stacey Hatfield has died at the age of 30 following labor complications while she was giving birth at home.

Hatfield’s husband, Nathan Warnecke, took to her Instagram account on October 19 to share the sad news that she passed away on September 29.

“It’s with heavy heart that I share with you the unexpected passing of my beautiful wife, soul mate and best friend, Stacey Warnecke (Hatfield),” he wrote, explaining that she died “after successfully giving birth to our firstborn son, Axel, at home.”

Shortly after she delivered their son “an unforeseen and extremely rare complication arose and she passed after being transferred to hospital.” After noting that the hospital staff was “amazing and did the utmost to help,” he said that “ultimately nothing could be done despite their best efforts.”

“I knew Stace for 9 amazing years, she was the light of my life and the reason I got up in the morning. Words can't do justice to how devastating this is for myself and everyone that knew and loved her,” Warnecke wrote. “She was my lighthouse in the storm and the world is less bright without her in it.”

“As her husband, I couldn't ask for a better partner. She was the most beautiful, loving, caring, hardworking, disciplined, intelligent and trustworthy human being I've ever known. She made me the man I am today and everything I have in life is all thanks to her. The happiest day of my life was getting to marry her, my best friend, on a white sand beach in the Maldives.”

Warnecke’s tribute continued by calling his late wife “a child of the universe,” adding that she “loved above all else to live a simple, stress free life.”

“She was most at home in nature, surrounded by trees and sand at her feet. She lived her whole life with an appreciation for everything she had and cared not for materialistic possessions,” he wrote. “Her favourite pastime was reading a book with a mug of green tea and our French Bulldog, Winter, by her side.”

Hatfield was an Australian nutritionist and food influencer who earned a following through her business, Natural Spoonfuls, which encourages people to eat whole foods and choose natural, chemical-free products as an approach to a toxin-free lifestyle.

Family member Jon Downie set up a GoFundMe to help Warnecke and Axel during their difficult time.

“Nathan has a newborn baby and is left to navigate life from here as a single father. The challenge to provide all that a young child needs without his soulmate is a daunting one whilst dealing with such a tragic loss. Late night feedings, nappy changes and adjustment to this new life are a heavy burden for a young father even with the support of family,” he wrote in the fundraiser’s description.

“Nathan is not one to ask for help, however we know he will need assistance. With love and support we know he will succeed and be an amazing father to Axel,” Downie continued. “There is no doubt the financial prospects from here for Nathan are significant. Nathan will be unable to return to work as planned for the near future.”
