Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross started dating in 2014 and welcomed a son named Lars in 2017.
And just like that, the “Sister Wives” plot thickens — again.
During the Dec. 28 episode of “Sister Wives,” one of TLC’s longest-running shows, Christine Brown made a shocking revelation about her family ties to ex-husband Kody Brown.
In a confessional with her current husband, David Woolley, Christine admitted that she and Kody are, in fact, third cousins, once removed — making them blood relatives.
“Yeah, I’m related to Kody,” she told a shocked Woolley, per People.

"I knew growing up that I would have to marry a convert because I was literally related to everybody in the church," she added. "I did marry a convert, but I was still related to him, too."
In a confessional of her own, Janelle Brown revealed that the sister wives had a running “joke” about Kody and Christine’s family dynamic — but described the ties as “distant” and “ridiculous.”
Janelle also revealed that it’s the kind of thing that happens often in polygamous relationships.
"It wasn't the kind of relationship where you saw each other at a family reunion. It was a very distant relationship but they would always joke about being cousins. It's a small community,” she added.
Christine Brown isn’t the only sister wife with family ties to Kody Brown
Christine’s shocking revelation comes one month after Janelle made a revelation of her own.
During the Nov. 30 episode of “Sister Wives,” Janelle revealed that her and Kody are technically step-siblings because her mother was spiritually married to Kody’s father, according to E! News.
And that wedding happened just three months before Janelle and Kody’s.

"I was starting to talk to Kody and I met the family and was really intrigued. My mom's like, 'Oh, heck no, heck no, heck no, heck no.' My mom came to save me and ended up marrying Kody's dad," Janelle said.
"When they decided to get married, I was like, 'That's gonna be a little hard to explain, but alright,'" she added.
Kody legally married Meri Brown in 1990 before entering spiritual marriages with Janelle Brown in 1993, Christine Brown in 1994 and Robyn Brown in 2010, according to Entertainment Tonight.
In 2014, he legally divorced Meri Brown and married Robyn Brown in order to adopt her three kids.
On Nov. 2, 2021, Christine Brown took to Instagram to announce her decision to leave their plural marriage “after more than 25 years together.”
Meri Brown and Janelle Brown announced similar decisions in a “One on One” special that aired in December 2022.
