Derek Hough and Vanna White are two of the nicest people on television — and it’s easy to see why.
The 40-year-old former “Dancing with the Stars” pro (and current judge) is set to make his “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” debut on Sept. 26 as the show returns for its sixth season and first with Ryan Seacrest.
On Sept. 24, White surprised Hough on the set of “Extra” — which he now hosts — with a gift she had promised him while taping the game show.
And the gift nearly brought Hough to tears.
“When you came to the show and we taped your version,” White said to an already-shocked Hough. “ I said I was gonna make you a baby blanket. So… here you go!”
White then gave Hough — whose jaw was ready to hit the floor — a gift bag that said “BABY” on it.
“What? Are you kidding me right now?” he said to White as he pulled out a crocheted yellow blanket. “You did not make this.”
White proved that she made it by showing him a personalized tag that read, “Crocheted for you by Vanna White.”

“I can’t wait to show this to my wife and I can’t wait to swaddle,” Hough said with tears forming in his eyes. “I’m gonna get emotional.”
A video of their exchange was shared on Extra TV’s Instagram page ahead of Hough’s anticipated “Wheel of Fortune” debut.
Hough will be joined by fellow DWTS judge Bruno Tonioli and current DWTS pro Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy, according to E! News.
Fans can’t get enough of Vanna White’s gift to Derek Hough’s baby
Hough’s baby gift comes two months after he shared some exciting news with fans.
On July 26, Hough and his wife Hayley Erbert — whom he tied the knot with in 2023 after eight years of dating, per E! News — announced that they were expecting their first child together.
“Already so loved,” he wrote in an Instagram caption alongside a photo of them holding ultrasound photos.
Fans took to the comment section of Hough and White’s recent video to praise the hostess for her sweet gesture.

“2 of the nicest people on TV,” one fan wrote.
“What a cherished blanket that will be,” another fan commented.
“@DerekHough gets so emotional when talking about #BabyHough!!” a third fan wrote.
Other fans were trying to convince White to become a contestant on “Dancing with the Stars” after White and Hough shared their secrets with one another — White as a hostess and Hough as a dancer.
“PETITION TO GET VANNA ON DWTS!!!” another fan wrote under their video.
Meanwhile, Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert have been making plenty of memories in their final months as a party of two.
On Aug. 27, the couple celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary.
“These years with you have been the best journey, and now we get to start the most beautiful chapter, our family,” Hough wrote in the caption of his anniversary post.
