Baker Mayfield’s wife has another little bun in the oven — and this time it’s a boy!
In a joint Instagram post, published Nov. 19, the 30-year-old Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and his wife, Emily Mayfield, revealed some exciting baby news with the help of their one-year-old daughter.
“New addition coming April 2026,” Emily wrote in an Instagram caption. “And we couldn’t feel luckier.”
The first slide shows the couple’s daughter, Kova Jade, wearing a “Big Sis” sweater with her mouth wide and hands above her head as she waves a collection of ultrasound photos in the air.
The rest of the slide shows the soon-to-be family of four sitting on a blanket with their dog as they cut into a gender reveal cake with blue filling — much to Baker’s excitement.
The internet was equally excited at the surprise pregnancy reveal:
- “Love u guys!!! Congrats,” NFL reporter Erin Andrews wrote.
- “Ahhhh congrats guys!!!” Brittany Mahomes commented.
- “Baby Bake OTW!” the Tampa Bay Buccaneers added.
- “Congrats!” professional golfer Max Homa wrote.
Some fans were quick to share their baby name suggestions, including one fan who commented, “Shake Mayfield? Little shake n bake,” while other fans hinted at the baby being a “2045 Heisman candidate.”

“Boy about to be a dawg. Congrats!” Baker’s teammate YaYa Diaby wrote under the post.
Baker Mayfield’s baby news came just two days after the quarterback’s 32-44 loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, Nov. 16, which marked the team’s first back-to-back loss of the season.
In 10 games played this year, Baker has totaled 2,365 yards, 17 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
Baker Mayfield is a ‘natural’ father, according to his wife
Baker and Emily Mayfield first met in 2017 and got engaged six months later, according to People.
The couple tied the knot in July 2019 and announced their first pregnancy on Instagram in December 2023. Their daughter, Kova Jade, was born on April 9, 2024.
By August of that year, Emily was already calling her husband a “natural.”
“It’s very sweet, and he is wrapped around her finger, and he’s been saying that since she was born,” she said in an interview with the “Tampa Bay Times.”
“But now that she’s giggling and staring at him and now she just started doing that lower-lip thing, and he’s so screwed when that happens. He’s natural. He really is a natural,” she continued.
Earlier this year, Baker revealed what it was like seeing his child for the first time.
“When you’re trying to have kids, or your significant other is pregnant, everybody’s like, ‘Just wait until you see that child for the first time, you don’t know that love,’” he said in an interview with Sports Spectrum.

“You hear it so many times, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, I get it.’ But first time I saw her, that’s like, ‘Okay, now I understand it and what that pure love is,’” he added. “It just turned our world upside down. It’s so special.”
