Kylie Kelce stresses the importance of being honest during pregnancy

Ryan Brennan04/16/25

Kylie Kelce is opening up about the “dual experience” she had while carrying baby No. 4.

The 33-year-old wife of retired NFL center Jason Kelce took to her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast to discuss the reality of being pregnant and how it’s okay to have mixed emotions throughout the journey.

“I’m super grateful to be able to get pregnant, but I do not enjoy being pregnant," Kylie Kelce admitted in a bonus clip posted to her YouTube channel on April 7.

In the video, she praises listeners for allowing her to have open discussions about her pregnancy journey and be honest about the fact that she “(doesn’t) actually care to be pregnant.”

As she puts it, being pregnant and enjoying being pregnant are “not dependent of each other.”

“You can have these thoughts and feelings, you can have these anxious moments, you can have this rage,” Kylie Kelce says in the clip. “Or, even a step further, an actual mood disorder postpartum.”

“But you can still love your child,” she continues, “and be happy that your child is here and be happy to be a mother and to be grateful for the experience.”

Kylie Kelce talks about the guilt pregnant women often feel

Kylie Kelce adds that it’s “so important for women to hear that specifically” due to the “immense amount of guilt associated” with having those types of thoughts and feelings.

“That you aren’t finding joy in every day life, or it feels redundant that you get up every day and you do breakfast, and you do this, and you do that, and it’s the same routine every [day]," she explains.

"I think that the idea of encouraging women to speak out when they’re having those moments, the liberating feeling will be worth it,” she concludes.

Kylie Kelce’s guest, author and therapist Rebecca Fox Starr, agreed with her sentiment.

“It’s so important to remember that I can feel really grateful that I was able to carry a baby and not enjoy it. And love my child, but not be sure I like my child,” Starr said in the clip.

Starr further challenged listeners to “(normalize) that more than one thing can be true at once.”

“It’s so scary to admit that you’re not okay, but also so liberating to say, ‘I don’t have to hold it all together,” Starr added on the podcast.

Kylie Kelce has been an open book since revealing her fourth pregnancy in a relatable Nov. 22 Instagram post featuring her three daughters — Wyatt, 5, Elliotte, 4, and Bennett, 2.

She previously discussed her worst pregnancy symptoms, which included not being able to eat a lot in one sitting, having a hard time breathing and insomnia — not being able to sleep properly.

“I was awake from 2 a.m. until 6:30 a.m. for no reason whatsoever,” she said in a March 24 clip on her YouTube channel.

“I couldn’t tell you why I couldn’t sleep, but for 4½ hours it was just me, myself, (and) my thoughts, which is lovely. Just lovely,” she joked.

Kylie Kelce welcomed her fourth daughter — named Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce — on March 30.
